Anyone ever consider that in Beyond it's almost entirely canned? It's a real time rendering sure, but with no physics or AI.
Uncharted 2/3 look great, Beyond looks like it's probably going to look great. But dial back the blinders and actually look at how small the environments are in Uncharted/Beyond (Area you can walk around and interact with stuff).

Seriously, you can't just sit on a game and release a bunch of Beta/Demo (as you say). People have to get paid, and sitting there and weeding out every bug just isn't economical. Not everyone has the luxury of Rockstar, who can wait and let a game stew.

You don't need those things, but if you want a mature adult story then sometimes things like abuse happen. Is it a requirement? No of course not, but it's potentially a reasonable thing to happen within a story.In the context of Lara it makes sense and the controversy was way over blown.
Demon's Souls isn't getting shut down, it was originally slated to be taken down at the end of October. Then it was supposed to come down in May, and now we are here. Atlus has stated that as long as interest and game population warrants it, they wont take the NA servers down.

I love the part where you go against orders at every point possible then get slapped on the wrist over it. I love the absolutely weak power struggle within the Helghan (I was led to believe they were embroiled in civil war) not two old guys bitching at one another. The weak stealth section in the Jungle and the Helghans apparent lack of understanding of their own native fauna.
Killzone 2 was a better game, Killzone 3 was ridiculously weak in comparison.

Nothing about Heavy Rain was emotionally engaging, it was nothing but plot holes and possibly the silliest motive I have ever witnessed in a game.

I really loved Red Orchestra as a mod and thought Ostfront was a pretty decent retail release. RO2 was a complete disaster at launch, but since then the game has slowly developed into something resembling RO1.
The MP is definitely worth a second look.
