Are you sure Physx are disabled? that can really hog the CPU specially if you dont have a Nvidia GPU. Turn Physx off and tell us the rest of your settings.
Only if you are an incompitent twit and even then its not like all your online gaming can go down in one blow.
Ill just go online from my PC here on, leave the PS3 to the SP exclusives.
I know bro it sucks, on top of that console gamers even pay more then the PC version. Same game is availalbe on PC between 40-49usd.
Best solution is just to get a PC for all the multiplats the PC exclusives.
There hasnt been a solid RPG out this year, Witcher 2 is going to change that ;-)
Its just not about the graphics and smoother frame rate.
The Keyboard mouse is a huge advantage, its a proven fact with control pad devs actually see the need to include noob assist (aim assist).
I think one of the more important aspects of an FPS game is that the people should work together as a team. Since the average PC gamer is of a more mature age then console, people on the PC platform tend to work together. While on console everyone runs of in diff...
Even if Steam went down. Every game sold is sold with a CD Key. Keep that Key safe and you can download the game from any place and start playing again.
There is over 500 Multiplats released this gen alone. If you count the exclusive then no platform has more then 10 exclusives that you really would like to own the platform for.
Which brings us to a conclusion that most games are multiplat.
With Steam not only are those same multiplats cheaper then console versions, they also likely will last alot longer, since with console we dont know if the game we buy today will be playable on the next box. With Steam...
@poisonedmonkey
True, however people should note an advantage of PC gaming is that its an open platform. Meaning no one network controls it. Hence the situation that occured with PSN where all games are now unplayable cannot occur with the PC.
Further more since its an open platform with no one controlling it, it even offers full backward compatibility. Its upto Sony or MS to provide BC for the next box, the users are completely at their mercy. With PC ev...
Lol if Cell was so great then why didnt Sony use 2 of them in the PS3?
It would have helped bringing the production cost of the Cell down, since they would have had to make 2x the amount.
Clearly Sony knew they had designed an architecture which would have been a hassle to work with and it still wouldnt have performed as well as including a GPU in the mix.
Which is why they asked Nvidia for help. Had they stuck with 2 Cells it would hav...
Day one buy ;-)
Why not just buy the game on Steam if you want it so badly, its cheaper and will run better on low end to midrange PC.
@below
If it had to happen it would have been talked about long before, they wont throw a surprise at the last moment. Anyways i dont see a reason why people shouldnt buy it on Steam directly if they like Steam so much. Also Lets not forget Games bought on Steam are like permanent copies. The Steam platform doesnt change, when the next c...
Its not hard tracking your friends on Steam. I dont game much on my PS3 any more, since i got into PC gaming however i can clearly see the advantages of an open network. I think Sony should go for it.
@darkequitus
"You bring the hardware, them comes the software."
Agreed however its been 1.5years the first dx11 hardware came out, we only have a handful of games that support dx11. Most of them are DX9 games with DX11 added as an after thought.
Nvidia and AMD can launch all the hardware they want. I personally dont see an incentive to upgrade until the software is atleast on the horizon. The only true games that seem to be DX...
@vulcan
4870 in crossfire is still superior to 5870 or 6870. Check out the launch benchmarks of 5870, it got beaten most of the time by 4870x2. Sure in games where crossfire isnt supported properly 4870 CF will be left in the dust.
5870(the first dx11 gpu) launched back in sept 2009. Unfortunately almsot 1.5years after its launch the market is still littered with DX9 games. Even the much awaited crysis 2 was only dx 9. Even if DX 11 is patched in, it will...
I bet asides the DX11 effects BF3 will be running maxed out on a pair of 4870 GPUs which would hardly cost you 80usd each as of today.
AMD and Nvidia need to show us the software before releasing any more hardware.
Will be cool playing console ports with this hardware... oh wait the 4000 series plays em at 1080p anyways.
Pc game prices are insane. I am personally preordering BF3 for 40usd ;-)
Think ill wait on dirt 3, it will probably be on sale in few weeks after launch for 3rd the price.
Makes me wonder why anyone in their right mind would pay 60usd per game on console, specially with no gaurntee all those expensive games bought will work next gen.
"Sony rep says 100% no personal data leaked"
While i dont support the hackers, i wouldnt believe everything told to me by some company employee. Its not like we would catch one of their own employees saying "so and so data was leaked", its not like someone would like to lose their job by placing such a statement.
Why are multiplats shitty? you are missing out on games like Portal 2, Mass effect 2, Badcompany 2.
