For 800usd you are getting a high end rig, which not only plays games it does much more work too, like editing videos, work, burning dvds, web browsing.
500usd machine will still beat consoles, so if you are comparing to console then 500usd is still more then enough.
In any case in the long run even a 800usd PC is cheaper then getting a console due to cheaper prices on games. That adds up very quickly ...

Well you forget that many of the console owners arent in their teens yet.
When a developer wants to launch a game for console they have to keep people who are 12 years or even below. At which point they have to design the game so those kids can play as well.
The same demographic doesnt have as much easy access on PC.
Not hard getting a PC, specially in this and age one can be made very close to console prices. Cheaper games ensure the system is much cheaper then a console in the long run.

While MGS is a good franchise no one is playing MGS1 or GT1 in millions today, niether did they have a online component. SC is in a league of its own.

Well nothing is unhackable, so if the hackers want to hack the network it probably can be done again. I think Sony needs to stop going after them, anyone who want to buy PS3 games will buy anyways. Pirates will always pirate, no point pissing of the hackers again.
Why would anyone want to pay 60usd for this game on console when they can get for 36usd on pc.
Same goes for any multiplat out there. People should get the game on PC save $$ and allow devs to carry on innovating. Buying on console will just mean stagnation.

Its consoles that should really be worried about performance afterall its consoles that run most games in sub 30fps, 720p or below. PC with 3-4 year old hardware runs most games in 1080p.
