It was onsale on steam for 24 usd i still didnt buy it. I would pick it up when its between 5-10usd and if i dont have much to play(my current backlog is about 20games thanks to steam discounts) so when that goes down and DNF is on discount i may pick it up.
still a bargain at 13usd imo. i am currently playing it, awesome game imo. u should get it if you havent already, stock up on the games until the next discount ;-)

retribution is on discount on steam for 13usd. imo at that price its a steal.
This mostly happens because companies like AMD and Nvidia like to promote their best. Hence developers tend to show the best hardware available at the time.
I am sure you could get 2x 6950 for around the price the price of a single GTX 580 and get almost 150% performance.
Any how i am sure they will keep it playable for midrange hardware too, which again will look leagues ahead of the console version.

GTA 4 on PC already looked a gen ahead of the console version. With this mod the gap is further widened.
Even if GTA5 launched on current consoles they wouldnt be able to beat GTA4 with mods on PC due to hardware limitation on console.

Most of my friends now buy games on PC. Sure they do have consoles however those consoles are reserved for the exclusives. The bulk of our purchases happen during Steam and D2D discounts. We stack up a good number of games until the next discount happens. Which basically involves picking up 7-8 games every time a discount all for under 100usd lol. right now the best bang for the buck is the HD6950 from AMD. it costs about 250usd (2gig version), and some of them even come with a free game.
How much do 10 console games + console cost you?

Well Crysis 1 could run on a 7800GTX, it would just need to be turned down to 640*480, with low res textures AA turned off.
Many console games run in Sub HD, if Crytek has to retort to those levels to make a buck they just might.

Steam may go offline however you are not at steams mercy to go online :)
You can still keep playing your games online even if steam is down, not the same with PSN or XBL.

Seriously one of the reason why gaming has become stagnant is because developers now refuse to give mod tools, which eliminates any user creativity. Devs themselves cant possibily come up with fresh ideas the way hundreds of thousands of gamers...
Think its safe to say both Kinect and Move have been terrible failures as long as the hardcore is concerned.
Imo the best motion sensing device is still the mouse.
