Nintendo's money comes from sequels but they still do new games from time to time. I can't understand people who say that never happens. They're wittingly ignoring Nintendo's more unique titles.
No replay value? Bah! Online always increases replay value. Not to mention VR and unlockables.
Oh I like a little bit of everything, so I'm actually not too put off by all of the Japanese games. But the thing is you're right about the market in how western gamers tend to crave western games.

Keep in mind that Playstation TV was branded as Vita TV in Japan. It runs off of the same hardware, so that's why it can play most of the games in the Vita library. But it's for television so you can do a little more with it, such as stream your PS4 games.
Should Sony eliminate the latency issue with game streaming, this could spell out quite the innovation for Playstation. For $100 getting a game streamer for another part of the house is not a bad deal at all, and it's even Vita compatible.
Not to mention the PSOne came out toward the endpoint of the Playstation's life cycle.
Isn't that a baseless assumption? Half-baked games with DLC is not a trend that more and more devs are doing. Some do it and others don't. Nintendo is one of the ones who don't.

Vita's support clearly comes primarily from Japan where it's actually selling nicely and giving the 3DS a run for its money. Sony knew that audience was the most viable and they went for it. But at the same time it seems western adopters are being left to dry for now. It's a crying shame. :(
I really hope people don't complain about this. It's a silly thing to complain about. M stands for mature, not magnificent.
I don't really remember Wii U making 50k+ each week though. That was what Wii U was selling across each month pre-MK8, if not even less than that. There's definitely some declination, but it's not as steep as the prior boosts the console got, probably because of the new bundle.
edit: I'm noticing a lot of disagrees on my first comment. In case there's any confusion, I'm just glad that all of the present generation consoles are outselling their previous...

That's an interesting observation. Makes me wish we had day by day sales figures. You know how Mario Kart sold like gangbusters in its first weekend? I'd like to see on which particular day it sold the most.
Nice to see all of the current generation hardware outselling the previous generation stuff, even Vita and Wii U. I also like how XB1 and Wii U are making decent numbers in spite of PS4's monumental success. This is definitely a solid generation for everyone. :)
Super Mario Universe. They can build it up with Super Mario 3D Collection which has HD remasters of 64, Sunshine and the Galaxy games. Now that's one heck of a dream lol.
Pokemon Snap could work very well as a download title for Wii U. They can start it as an HD remake and then add DLC later on for other regions. Just a thought.

No one has played the game yet so I think it's too early to say, but I also hold a lot of optimism for it. ND hasn't let me down yet. :D
