SOME Switch games are a step up from 3DS games, but a LOT of them could've easily ran on 3DS at lower resolution like Luigis Mansion 3, Metroid Dread, Animal Crossing, the Paper Mario's, the Kirby games, Mario Tennis/Golf, the 2 top down Zelda games, Mario Maker, etc, etc.

COMPLETELY subjective! I think Nintendo games by and large are overrated.
Translation - "We will mitigate development costs by continuing to release glorified 3DS level budget games, charging AAA game prices for them, and never put them on sale".
Exactly. My biggest complaint with Nintendo is most of their games lack ambition. Imagine a Luigi's Mansion game set inside a mansion with the scale and scope of the Hogwarts Legacy castle! Or what about a Star Fox game with the freedom to explore multiple planets/galaxies like in No Man's Sky. I get tired of Nintendo making games on rinky dink hardware with rinky dink budgets. For every Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, there's 10 glorified 3DS games that Nintendo charges AAA price...
No they don't all run "just fine". It's 2024. 60fps should be standard now. There are still far too many 30fps Nintendo games.
Release a great game at a reasonable price and it sells. Wow what a concept! :)

But why would they do that when they can sell you Switch 2 specific versions of those games all over again! 😉

But PS2 didn't have 2 skus serving 2 markets. It was one sku. The Switch Lite is ONLY a handheld that cannot be docked, so it should not be categorized as a console, but a handheld.
@RpgSama. Exactly. Plus, that total includes the Switch Lite sales which is NOT a console at all! You cannot dock it and play it on your TV, so it should not be classified as a console. Take the Switch Lite out of the equation and that total looks a lot different.

You are correct sir! I stand corrected! I knew I had read something regarding the16tf/33tf duality in PS5 Pro and I thought it was a comparison of RDNA 2 with RDNA 3.
@Wiixzy its a highly customized version of RDNA 2, containing RDNA 3 elements. It is not a 1:1 comparison to the standard PC version of RDNA 2.
PS5 Pro RDNA 3(ish) TF is not the same as PS5 RDNA 2(ish). Essentially 16 RDNA 3 TF is = to 33 RDNA 2 TF's

It would have made much more sense to call the game "Freegunners" since that's what you're supposed to be and trailers mention it like a dozen times.
