You're a fool if you believe the CEO's paycut actually saved jobs. That is merely a symbolic gesture to show that all are accountable, even those at the top. I think it's a noble gesture to be sure! I commended him for doing it at the time. But realistically it wouldn't have saved jobs.
Dude, Breath of the Wild is SOOO overrated! It might have more interactivity, but that world is so empty! I was completly bored of it after about 15 hours. I never even finished it. I hear TOTK was better, but I never bothered after the boredom of BOTW. If that game was called Bob's Adventure, instead of Zelda, it would've been panned by critics and wouldn't have sold much at all.
And charge for them as if they're huge budgeted projects. If Mario Wonder had any other name attached to it besides Mario, it would've been a digital only release for about 30 bucks on the digital store fronts. The only difference in budget between it and say, The Plucky Squire, is one has "Mario" in the name. Yet one sells for 60.00 and one sells for 35.00. Ridiculous!
@Nintentional2
"Cherry picking"? Lol ok if that's what you want to call it but that is a pretty substantial list of 1st party titles that couldn't hit 60fps. I never said ALL of them, I just said quite a few of them and there's more that I didn't list.
And you bringing PS4 into the argument is ridiculous because we've been into the PS5/XSX generation for 4 years now. My point is we've been enjoying 60fps gaming as a st...
The C-suite pay cuts are just symbolic to help maintain morale. It's not enough to actually save jobs. What saves Nintendo is their game development is nowhere near on the scale as other studios, yet they charge for them as if they were. The "ROI" on Nintendo games is way higher because people naively pay big budget prices for low budget products, hardware included! Do you realize that the Switch hardware has not had a single price cut since launch?? That's almost 8 ye...
Why are you showing a picture of Satoru Iwata? He's been dead for almost 10 years. Nintendo has had 2 president's since him and Furukawa, the current president, has been there for 6 years.
An example for what? How to screw over consumers by making the same low budget games over and over, charging big budget prices for them, and NEVER putting them on sale? Yeah, no thanks!
Thats exactly right. Outside of a few select titles, Nintendo's 1st party games are mostly lower scale, lower budgeted games that are sold at big budget prices that Nintendo fans don't seem to mind paying. "60.00 for a 2d Mario or Metroid game? SURE, here ya go!"
Don't forget Mod Nation Racers! STILL the best kart racer ever made, not named Mario Kart!!!!
I'm talking about the top 3
How is Black Myth Wukong not on this list??? Also Warhammer 40K SM2.
If 1440p/60fps with DLSS is the MINIMAL standard for Switch 2 games in docked mode, I'd be perfectly fine with that!
Not really. I listed several 1st party Switch games above that only run at 30 fps.
Luigis Mansion 3
Zelda BOTW
Zelda TOTK
Pikmin 4
Mario & Luigi Brothers hip
Animal Crossing
Kirby And The Forgotten Worlds
Paper Mario And The 1K Year Door
And I know there's more but all of these only manage 30fps.
You're assuming everyone who plays Switch, does so in handheld mode. Mine almost never leaves it's dock.
@Number1TailzFan
Even several of Nintendo's 1st party games were still 30fps this gen. Both Zelda's (BOTW & TOTK), Luigis Mansion 3, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Pikmin 4, Animal Crossing, etc were all 30fps games. It's so annoying having to deal with ancient tech just to play Nintendo"s games!
Wish I could say I was excited for this, but the idea of playing games at sub 4k at 30fps again, even Nintendo games, really sours my stomach. :(
Lmao! As if we don't know which one it will be!
As is Warhammer SM2.
Xbox don't have to quit Europe. Europe already quit Xbox.
Everyone loves to praise him posthumously now and remember him fondly, but let's not get it twisted. At the time of the WiiU, nearly everyone was barking for his job!
Frankly I HATE the direction Nintendo went in, starting with the Wii and focusing solely on underpowered hardware and staying behind in console tech. I much prefer the N64/Gamecube era when they were still making powerful hardware. I understand WHY they pivoted, but I still hate it and that was on Iwata...
