I was hyped for this, back when it was first shown several years ago. However by today's gaming standards it doesn't stand out to me. Its lost its shine because so many other games have released that have surpassed it. They've waited too long to get this game out.
@4Swift and by forever you mean 2020? Yeah quality takes time. They COULD produce jank like Bethesda Studios does but ND cares about things like polish, quality, engines that don't pre-date the PS2, etc.
In my best Nigel Tuffnel from Spinal Tap voice I say...
I look at you and I ask, how much more ignorant can this person be, and the answer is...none. None more ignorant!
Exactly. "Best Game Expansion". How hard is that?
Man there's quite a long line forming of canceled/dormant 3rd party projects for PlayStation that never came out...
Agent
Deep Down
Wild
Little Devil Inside
Pragmata
Silent Hills
And I know there's more!
I said it are few weeks ago. IJATGC will be the best Indiana story since The Last Crucade! So glad to see this getting good reviews.
Well said! Joy-Cons suck.
Ughh!!! Joy-Cons!
I'm thinking 7/10. But I'd like to be pleasantly surprised.
Every Xbox game preview has been positive. You can't always go by that. Redfall's previews were positive, Hellblade 2's previews were positive, STALKER 2's previews were positive. Flight Sim 24's previews were positive.
Yet they all released to mediocre reviews.
Or just get rid of one the other pointless categories, like Most Anticipated Game. How retarded is it that they give an award for a game that hasn't released yet?
@savedsynner
It's still an expansion that requires you to play at least some of the original game before you can play it. This sets a terrible precedent IMO. The VGA's need to create a "Best Expansion" category.
The VGA's became a joke to me last year when they decided to prevent Hogwarts Legacy from being nominated in ANY category for obvious biased political reasons! I decided then, that I would no longer tune in and support such a corrupt organization.
Yeah, if they could just fix the load times and give it a 4K resolution/framerate boost to 60fps, it would be just as fresh and look amazing even today!
If they had just fixed the loading times, Mod Nation Racers would remain to this day one of THE best Kart Racers in existence, up there with Mario Kart and Crash Team Racing! The creation tools in MNR were insane! Allowing you to create virtually any character or any vehicle! The track creator wasn't bad either! I miss that game so much!
I'll go a step further, look at the NES game The Legend of Bayou Billy. It incorporated so many mechanics in that one game, it was quite ahead of its time. It had beat em up mechanics, shooting mechanics, driving mechanics, etc. All in one little 8 bit title.
How do we consistently get these positively previewed Xbox games from IGN (Redfall, Starfield, Hellblade 2, STALKER 2, etc) and when they come out, they get bad to mediocre reviews? I'm expecting the same thing with Avowed.
Saying it has Witcher like combat isn't exactly encouraging.
What I mean is back when this game was first revealed, graphically it was an extremely impressive looking game at the time. However, that was like 8 years ago. Today it just looks like one of the many other games in that genre that have come out within that time period. I'm not saying the game won't be great. I'm saying from a graphical level, the industry has caught up and LSA is no longer the head turner it originally was.
