Death animations are meant to look like old school samurai movies. Which is where a lot of this game gets its visual language from.
They are Great.
This is nothing like the ps3 reveal
Anyone that think 700 million pc gamers are part of the xbox eco system are either incrrdible dishonest or incredible ignorrant.
Bend used unreal engine for days gone.
It was a tech demo designed to show off very specific engine features.
Most games are designed to be 30 fps anyways and what they showed with "nanite" was an unparalleled level of detail in a potential real world example.
The fps is not decided by a console, it is decided by a goal set during development. Any game can run in 60+ fps, but it will cost fidelity. If anything the tech demo showed how much more one could potentially do with a 60 fps...
The reason Microsoft has mandated 4k/60 is because they are making cross gen games and want something to put on the box that differentiates the series x versions.
If you think that is going to be the standard going forward I am afraid you will be disapointed.
If you hold fps to that regard you should not be arguing for 4k resolutions anyway. As that is where the major preformance conflict is.
We are the reason games get supported with additional content?
Or are you one of those guys that think all dlc was content that should have been on the disc?
Because that is a childish notion with No basis in reality.
They are not talking about it. It is simply part of a store description of the season pass. You know which you can preorder with the game for a discounted price.
But yea lets pretend it is anti consumer to let People know what they are paying for before hand. Man the dlc outrage is getting out of hand.
Its in the description of a season pass that is, I assume, part of the gold edition you can preorder. Not really akin to marketing to the degree you guys are acting.
I was never affected that much by the bugs. It was just so badly utilized. Well that at least is my major gripe with Unity. But I still think Unity's Paris is the most impressive map in any AC game to date though.
Best setting still goes to AC II for me though. Something about how it managed to sell me the atmosphere of renaissance Italy. I wanted revolutionary France for the longest time. It was my personal most anticipated setting for the series, but Unity. Despite i...
They could do that, but they have very little historical reference material to work with. Which is probably why they also set Origins in the very last era that can be considered ancient Egypt. I remember when the game was leaked. I was imagining us being able to play around in a world where we would see the egypt at the time when the pyramids of giza still were more than ruins. When the legendary Pharaos still ruled the land, but we got the Roman period ancient egypt. Which is at a point wher...
@Obscure_Observer
I am confused about that last paragraph. We have had gameplay showings from both The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima, so are you talking about within a certain timeframe or are you misinformed?
Yes. The main issue is by far that Microsoft decided to market this episode as a first real look at "next gen". Of course people will be disappointed when nothing of substance is shown off.
I hope many of these smaller third party titles will do well, but they are current gen games with some kind of fps boost patch on the series x. That is not what they marketed this "event" as. So people are of course going to be disappointed.
The A...
I get that this was not meant to replace their e3 conference, but it was hyped up as a first proper showing of next gen. And yes a lot of minor third party games that are not likely to be on the forefront of the new tech. The disappointment people are feeling has more to do with the hype Microsoft generated by marketing this episode. And I am there with them. Yes, this was not going to be the best showing of what the next generation will bring, but the way it was talked about beforehand made ...
Vikings is overly played out?
There are almost no games about Vikings despite its popularity in pop-culture.
Kind of like how westerns is supposedly overplayed, yet we rarely get any games.
Vikings were also Great tactitians and were not against using trickery to win a conflict.
Vikings were famously a lot more liberal than other medival societies of the time.
I dont know if they have any historical records of differing sexuality, but chances are it would be more acceptable than you think.
Oh wow. I hate writing on my Phone. I really messed up there. Wont let me edit it either.
Well god of war is the game of the generation for me. And anything that is played right after is likely to feel a bit jarring if you had i similar experience.
That being said I have a much harder time seeing Spider-man as that kind of leap up against Days Gone. In many ways I think Days Gone is the better game.
Spider-man was Great, but it was a by the numbers open world experience. What made the map clear a bit more enjoyable was, imo, how it paced out t...
From soft is good at combat gameplay, but they are far from flawless. I totally understand how one finds it hard to return to more action-oriented combat systems after getting used to from softs more methodical aproach to combat. But I would argue that god of war is yhe best most polished combat I have ever played. And the genius of the original arkham asylums combat is something I am still waiting to be topped.
Point is that they are different systems that envoke different...
