The question you should be asking is why not?

Variable clock speed is not a negative. It is a feature. Especially in a closed system like a console. Mark was clear, this was decided to give developers more control over power draw for every concievable task.

Think of it like this. The Ps4 had issues with throttling during pause menus because developers could not control the power their aplication would draw at those times when the computing needed was les...

I think the bigger irony here is that Jason is unable to identify his own privilege. When working in his own industry, game writers, often requires far more "crunch" than a few extra saturdays. Most industries do. Its like he is of a higher class, requiring the lower classed to work less. Not considering the realities of survival in this modern world.

Like many have mentioned. Working in retail often requires far more "crunch" than this. And from persona...

People have to understand that this purchase is a business decision. This is a purchase made by Microsoft, not the Xbox division. So far it seems this purchase is looking to become a subsidiary of Microsoft. Which means that bethesda has to make money.

Who knows how it will all turn out, but we know bethesda was already having issues keeping their investors happy. Which is why the Company became more and more predatory in their practicies over the years. It is also fair to ...

I guess, but they kept the New face.

I think the New one looks closer to the comic versions I am used to.

But what does that even mean. Hundreds of People have drawn Peter over the years. They are all slightly different.

They made the model look more like the voice actor. Its the same guy.

Probably to make mocap more easily adaptable. They should have thought about this from the start.

Honestly Peter and MJs character models is the weakest part of the games Presentation. I have no idea why they did not think it more through in the first place. This will probably be better for them in the long run.

It has happened several times in the mcu....

Hulk is a recast. Edward Norton was the first mcu hulk and his movie is still considered mcu cannon.

Mark ruffalo did a better job with the part so I guess everyone is fine with it.

They never changed Cole back, they just gave him a haircut and a more similar outfit.

I like this Peter better, but I agree. Mary Jane was the one that I really wish they changed.

What are you talking about? It was based on James McCaffrey the actor that voiced max, and they did keep more aligned with that design more so than the original. Which was based on Sam Lake, the writer.

I remember the backlash, but it made sense for the same reasons this makes sense. If you want more realistic facial animations based on qm actors real world reference. Then it helps that the model more resemble the actor.

I think what they did in mgs5 is ...

I prefer the New one a lot. The face models for Peter and Mary Jane especially always felt off to me. Though because of that I really wish they would redo her as well.

Nah. If such a purchase was on the table and it made sense for them sure. But whats up with this need to buy something in response. This is not some dumb neighbor fight about having the best looking lawn.

Sony is still way ahead when it comes to ciltivating their first party studios. This purchase by Microsoft has the potential to make a big difference for them, but potential is only that, potential. Sony doesnt need to buy something Just to come of as strong.

It's an interesting development. And even though I am still on the fence about getting a series X, I still like that this is changing up the industry. If this ends up with Microsoft being a power house on exclusive titles, then great. I would love to have a good reason to get a series x if that means New and great experiences.

My worrie however is whether bethesda Just went from the ashes to the fire. People are talking about how this is good because zenimax have been b...

Nah. This is Just standard business practice for ownership of ip. You have to show that You are willimg to protect your ip, or your right to protection in the future can be compromised.

Imo this is the worst time to ever buy a New gaming pc.

Yes, you can get a super modern graphics card with some amazing peefirmance. But if anything has been shown by this next gen lead up. It is that the pc will need a reorganizing of i/o which is not curecntly handled by the gpu. Even with the advanced New gpus way of circumventing the I/O botrkenecks it is still far from where the consoles, Ps5 in particular, are aiming to be.

I am not saying PCs wont ...

I loved Tony hawk's pro skater all the way from thps 1 to American Wasteland. The music the humor. The gameplay. But after EAs Skate it feels impossible to return. And I have tried. It Just feels so lacking now. I really hope Skate 4 lives up to the hype, but I kind of doubt it. I loved 1 and 2, but 3 was a big let down for me.

I might still pick this up, but I know nostalgia can only take it so far.

Well Sony has managed it. You have to consider the context. They are effectively saying that they want more releases every year. Not that the releases they do have planned should come out faster. Effectively they are looking to invest in even more teams working at the same time.

At least that seems to me, to be the rational conclusion.

Sony has been very aware of how investment in developers and staggered releases have affected them positively. If they w...

Isn't Ghost og Tsushima the closest we have gotten to an ubisoft rip off?

I mean I do think that is unfair to say, but it definetively is more akin to the ubisoft formula than both Horizon and Days Gone.

Both this and suicide squad came off as silly to me. Robin can teleoport because he is connected to the justice league satellite. What is up with that. I know I havent read any comics in a while, but that seems out of character to me. The gameplay feels very arcadey and cartoony. So far it does not seem to be for me.

I get that dc has been criticized a lot for being too serious and dark in their movie universe. But this seems to be a musunderstanding of the problem to me. ...

While I enjoy a lot of df content. They have flaunted some weird opinions during this next gen lead up.

Like this whole narrative that variable clock speeds is Worse came from them. Despite the fact that it is standard on all modern PCs. Which is clearly dfs favorite plattform. Not to mention that there does not exist any cohesive argument for why this all of a sudden is bad.

It is simply a more efficient way of controling the power usage. It gives develo...
