Wasn't that a bundle sold in EU only? And wasn't that article reflecting numbers from November? You saying that Driveclub sold almost 2 million copies from October to November? I'm not sure what's the point of referencing that particular article that was made a month or so after Driveclub released.

Do you say the same for Forza and TMCC bundles that were sold in pretty much all territories for longer than the Driveclub bundle?

Funny you mention shelf space when the Xbox One is a console that demands so much of it. Between the size of the console, to the cable box you have to have plugged into it to use the TV features, the external hard drive you have to hook up to it to expand the memory, and/or the kinect that is nearly the size of some consoles; it's no wonder some Xbox One owners don't have shelf space.

It must be really convenient to have multiple devices...

if you admittedly know backwards compatibility isn't the point of PS Now, why did you mention PS Now as a response to "people not caring about backwards compatibility"? They have nothing to do with each other.

Do you realize you just contradicted yourself. You said SFV would have existed without Sony even if Capcom had to beg another publisher for additional fund, which is exactly what they did (well, not beg I presume). Capcom was not going to fund SFV (as implied by Yoshinori Ono, Who is SFV executive producer), so they struck a deal with Sony for additional funding. You can speculate all you want as far as how Capcom might have gotten additional funds, but two thi...

I would expect Microsoft to heavily support with marketing a retail (more so than other multiplats) considering they treated the game as an exclusive. As card as support from a development standpoint. I'm going to bet they mean support with optimizing the game for the Xbox One, as opposed to actually developing the game, which are two different things. Exclusives like Bloodborne, and console exclusives like SFV and Shenmue involve Sony in a fundamental way, ...

Titanfall - Microsoft was willing to provide Respawn with the tools to help them make the game the way they wanted (dedicated servers AFAIK). Since Respawn was not going to let Microsoft own the IP, Microsoft settled for console exclusivity. This is understandable, Microsoft actually provided something that otherwise wouldn't have made the game possible (since apparently Sony declined the offer).

Bloodborne - Sony co developed the game. They didn't merely optimize the...

Shenmue sold a little over 1 million copies to an install base of 10 million, which is 10% of its install base. To say Shenmue bombed sales wise is like saying any PS3/360 game that hasn't sold 8 million copies is a bomb. Shenmue also received high scores in reviews. The only reason Shenmue is considered a commercial failure is because of the budget spending, which the publisher is responsible for. It sold well, just not as much as the publisher expected. Which ...

Let's think about the purpose of remastering a game. It's for people that didn't have a chance to play them last gen, say a PS3 only owner that migrated to Xbox One this gen. So now they can play the game this gen, with current gen fidelity. In the case of Gears UE, what would be the incentive of someone who never played the series to buy the game day one, if they are only going to get 1/3 of the story (since there has been no announcement of other Gears remastered). Granted, I un...

I don't understand how people grip over removing MP from the collection, and using that as a reason to not get the game. But these same people praise a remaster of a game from a trilogy that is not including two games of the trilogy, and claiming day one purchase. And to make it clear I am talking about Gears of War UE, because the same people praising that game find a way to bash this one. So removing a game mode from a trilogy is a dealbreaker, but removing two games from a trilogy is a...

Neither Sony or Microsoft charge you to play games you already own. I own hundreds of games, and I do not have to pay any additional money to play them. Would you like to know how? I simply turn on the console I bought the games for and play them. Pretty simple.

You just proved my point about Forza, you know the release schedule, so what's to be surprised about when it gets announced every E3?

I never said sequels didn't count. What I said is there isn't much of a surprise at E3 when the games shown were already known, and release dates were already known prior to E3.

FFVII is a remake, you are correct. It's a complete overhaul of a 18 year old game. Gears is a Remaster of a s...

The last guardian is an exception to the rule. Please advise me of any other game Sony has announce that has a similar circumstance to TLG.

Shenmue is also a different scenario since it's a kickstarter game. It's not like a traditional game where developers can start the game, keep it under wraps for a few years, then announce it relatively close to release. The development of Shenmue 3 was contingent on the kickstarter, so they can't begi...

So you are saying showing Halo 5, Tomb Raider, Forza 6, Gears remaster, and Fable Legends is the reason MS won this years E3? Really?

- Halo 5 and Tomb Raider were already announced and release dates given before this years E3, so how is showing them again at E3 any sort of surprise or big announcement? Not to mention the actual trailers themselves were somewhat underwhelming (not saying the games are bad, just the trailers).
- Forza is a year...

Your rant, and link did nothing to counter bathyj's point. The Xbox 360 warranty expired nov 2006, the extended warranty was announced July 2007. That's 8 months of non coverage for RRoD. What he was implying is that there are people who bought new consoles because the warranty expired (rather than paying for repairs and being almost a month without a console... That's how long it took when I got my first replacement within warranty). Even once the extend...

So you think 4 Uncharted games is over done (UC 1-3, Golden Abyss), but 11 Halo games isn't (Halo 1-4, Reach, ODST, Halo Wars, Halo Anniversary, Halo TMCC, Spartan Assault, Spartan Strike)?

You try and shrug GoW 3 as only a remaster, yet Halo 1 was released twice as a part of a remaster. Not to mention Halo TMCC (a remaster) is probably Xbox Ones best selling exclusive.

People will say anything.

Ummm... last gen Sony didn't start pumping out a heavy flow of exclusives until about two years after release (maybe a little more). Considering that fact and the fact that Sony was still making exclusives for the PS3 late into its life cycle (which obviously fragmented their studios between PS3 and PS4 support, not a bad thing IMO)' I would say Sony earned a little patience from gamers. The console isn't even two years old and there is already a good amount of exclusives release...

But the article asks whether it matters or not. That list of games may effect how one perceives the lack of AAA exclusives in the matter. In other words, for many people it doesn't matter since they have games to play through out the year, fall included.

Funny you mention console gaming not being judged by games that can be played elsewhere. You do realize that your console of choice only has 5 games that can only be played on said console? Other than Halo TMCC, Forza 5, Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive, and Killer Instint (for now), every other game on the Xbox One can be played elsewhere. How can you try and even talk about games being available elsewhere as a negative, when your own console of choice has ...

Resolution doesn't make the game, but a higher native resolution can make a game look better. And considering most of the games perform the same on both platforms, having a higher resolution is a plus.

To answer your question though, lower native resolution tends to be a result (aka consequence) of weaker hardware. It seems to be a compromise so that the performance can remain on par with the PS4. I'm pretty sure developers could have made their games 1080p on the Xbo...
