@ thatpsguy
What does it matter who is subsidizing the deal? Either way its a benefit for the consumer.
The parties involved in this deal are Samsung, Microsoft, and BestBuy. You said you don't think it's either Samsung or BestBuy subsidizing the deal, so who would that leave? You ask a question and then eliminate all possibilities except one, then call someone a fanboy because they respond to something you implied.
If you were truly ...
Yeah, the consumer profits.
I thought the Xbox One has a non removeable internal drive? Which was why they added USB 3.0 ports.
EDIT: Don't tell me this is just an external HDD that attaches to the console.
If a gamer moved from the 360 to PS4, then they surely didn't buy PS3 games last gen. Backwards compatibility would be of even less importance to them wouldn't it?
@ thegreatgamer
So how often do you play PS2 games on that launch PS3 you have?
If the answer is a lot. Well maybe you should have played PS3 games on your PS3, that way you wouldn't have amassed such a backlog of them. And if that's the case, I recommend you use your current console for current gen games so the problem doesn't persist.
If the answer is not often, well, need I say more.
@ death
There are about 115 games available in the subscription model of PSNow (with more being added consistently). If you call that very limited selection, what do you call backwards compatibility with only 100 games available? If you want to be the voice of reason, why don't you tell Xbox gamers to see what backwards compatibility allows you to play before putting away their 360s, since you know, maybe some of the games they want to play may not be available.
The conference was very good. I was already interested in Scalebound, but the gameplay demo solidified the purchase. Now I just have to wait until Black Friday for the inevitable Xbox One deals, unless an awesome one comes sooner. There are enough exclusive games that I am interested in to warrant a purchase. SSoD, Halo TMCC, Halo 5, Quantum Break, Scalebound, and Gears 4.

Isn't that the same with BC, not every game will be compatible? So what's the difference of Ps Now now having every title available and BC not working with every titles?
On topic: BC will definitely sway some people to buy the Xbox One version of a game if it comes with the prior releases at no cost. Especially if people never played the game or want to revisit it. It's a nice perk. But why not also include the first Just Cause?

I'll start by saying what I'm about to say I'm not trying to portray as fact, just speculation on my behalf. A few reasons Sony does not have as many first party titles as people expect them to have (such as yourself):
- Console is less than 2 years old. Even the PS3 took a couple years to gain its stride in mass producing exclusives.
- Sony supported the PS3 for much longer than the competition supported their legacy console. In o...
@ rookie and septic
He was gauging sales to determine which console has the preferred games lineup. How can anyone measure the Wiis sales to determine preferred games lineup if its attach rate was so poor? That means people bought Wiis but didn't buy their games (outside of some of the first party games and dance games, etc). How did the point of what was implied escape you two?

Sony said their first party titles are "sparse" this year. Xbox fans take it out of context. Sparse is a relative term, because sparse to Sony could mean relative to what they are used to releasing and not sparse relative to the competition.
2015 first party games for Sony:
MLB 15
GoW 3 remaster
Uncharted collection
Everybody's gone to rapture

@ Flex Luger
Are those FIRST PARTY games? I reckon not. I also left out a bunch of third party exclusives on PS4 as well, because the article is about FIRST PARTY games.
Seems like in your eagerness you forgot what the article was about.
@ Loktai
What do you expect from a person with the username lemoncake. He says Fruit Ninja 2 has a cult following, but Bloodborne is a very niche title. Amazing.
Doesn't the same ring true for Sony? This article seems to revolve around that assumption.
It's nice Microsoft is finally realizing the importance of first party titles, but how is this article equating Phils push for first party games with it being Sonys weakness? Does the author not realize Sony has more first party titles released and upcoming than the competition?

He said the Xbox 360 was more popular in America, which made it easier to get deals. He is saying now the PS4 is leading 2:1 (worldwide), I'd be more expensive for Microsoft to obtain those same types of deals.
@ BubsyKong
Most of what you said makes Xbox One feel more next gen, Sony gamers have been experiencing for a while. Cross buy, cross play, cross save, remote play, same network streaming, are all features PS4 gamers are f...

What makes you think that Forza 5 was rushed to market when it followed the same 2 year cycle every other Forza game had (even when transitioning from the Xbox to the Xbox 360, in case you would try and use the generation transition as an excuse). The game wasn't rushed, it was just not as good as previous Forza games. It rated a 79, that's the risk you take for releasing games so quickly. The good news is they have nowhere to go but up. Forza Horizon was def...
I guess this guy forgot that PS4 gamers can also play multiplat racers.
Also, how can you say racing fans that play on PS4 clearly don't know what a good racing game is? Of course they do. Any PS4 racing fan that played racing games on PS3 know of Gran Turismo, a series rated higher than Forza (as you said, reviews don't lie right?). Not to mention the ones that migrated from Xbox have played Forza games, those are good racers right? People know what a good racer is, ...
@ rookie monster
Perhaps he was specific in that he doesn't care about multiplayer for this game, particularly.
Perhaps when he was referring to PS plus as a subscription service, it was in regards to the games you get every month, which have nothing to do with multiplayer.
Perhaps, in two years, his perspective on gaming has changed.
Take your pick as to why the two comments have zero correlation.
