How many times you can charge a device from a battery pack is determined by the mAh of the battery pack and device. The Switch's battery will most likely have a higher mAh than your phone battery, meaning you will get less charge cycles from the battery pack.
It seems Nintendo is reluctant to assimilate when it comes to positive things such as powerful hardware, and securing legitimate third party support (not old ports and sports titles, I mean the majority of AAA releases); but they have no problem assimilating when it comes to negative things such as online subscriptions and season passes.
Nintendo wants to separate themselves from the competition, they don't want to be like Sony or Microsoft, they want to do their own th...
Looking like crap is relative. Is it based on being a handheld? Is it based on being a console? Ones perception could be based on many things, such as "superior versions" being available elsewhere, on hardware that's less expensive.
Conversely, you can say Nintendo fanboys will say it looks good because it's on a Nintendo system. Be honest, if this was the PS4/Xbox One version that looked like this you would think it looked like crap. But you don't, an...
@ OMG
Didn't Microsoft also say that they would not remove Kinect from the Xbox One? They ended up removing it. Didn't they also say they would utilize Kinect in a way that would benefit core games? We not seen Kinect utlilized in this manner. Didn't they also say they couldn't just turn off DRM like a switch? They removed it promptly. Didn't they also say the cloud would provide more power to gaming? Over three years into the cycle and what enhancements...
One way it might not have been ready at launch was it might have made a lot of non-Pro PS4 games crash. They were working on fixes, and once they got it working with most games they announced it and released a beta for it. If it was just a matter of "don't down clock" then why are there like 4 games that currently don't work well with boost mode? Wouldn't every game work flawlessly if it were just a matter of disabling down clocking? There may be more to it than just tha...
As a game machine it was not overpriced. Perhaps your perceived value of the product was that it was overpriced, to you. But for what the machine contained, it was not over priced. If something cost more to make than what it sells for, how exactly can it be overpriced? Again, subjectively it can be overpriced to you, but objectively it was not overpriced (especially relative to the competition). The PS3 sold for $500 (the 20GB version), which was only $100 more than the competition, and yet i...
@ Doopy
So your response to Microsoft re-releasing a game that is basically the original game with no work done to it (hence the lazy part), is admitting Sony re-releases PS3 games with higher resolution (which requires work)? Genius. No wonder Microsoft barely feels the need to release new games/IPs, Xbox fans seem to be content with playing Xbox 360 games on their Xbox One.
Some Xbox 360 games added to backwards compatibility. Cool. Seems to be the only...
He is taking their quote out of context. The article he references is mainly speaking on the difference between 1080p and 720p (PS4 vs PS3), to which there is a noticeable difference. And regarding the "better gamer" comment, he was referring to the ability to see details better due to the higher resolution and better accuracy because there are more pixels (hit boxes can be defined better perhaps?). Shuhei's opinion is that these factors will help the gamer when playing games.
The same can be said about the opposition. First resolution didn't matter, now to them it does. It goes both ways. Personally, I think it's pointless to compare the PS4 Pro to the Scorpio because it hasn't released yet. Whether it will be the "native 4K gaming machine" Xbox fans are hoping for remains to be seen. Especially considering the leaks about the Scorpio incorporating the same upscaling tech as the PS4 Pro, and it being at the discretion of the developers on how...
@ utalkin2me
I think what he was trying to say is that more Nintendo platforms have sold 100 million units (1 console and 2 handhelds with 100+ million), compared to the competition (Sony had 2 consoles with 100+ million). His wording was just off, so people are interpreting it as him saying Nintendo sells 100 million more than the competition.
Also I would like to correct you. Sony had the number 1,2, and 4 spot when it comes to home consoles (the PS3 ou...
Heavenly Sword was/is good too.
@ hundredand
This will most likely be available on Steam, which means Microsoft does not get a penny from the sale of the software. Now if it is available on the Microsoft store that's a different story, but I doubt that will be the case. Just because a game becomes available on PC does not mean it automatically benefits Microsoft.
You don't think their reputation needs fixing, and you are entitled to your opinions/beliefs. However, the amount of people that feel otherwise greatly outnumber the people that feel the way you do, and this is evident by the disparity in the user base. It's no different than the reputation Nintendo has gotten over the years, and how it has obviously effected their console install base. The first part of fixing a problem, is recognizing there is one. Now if Microsoft is satisfied with...
Isn't the original PlayStation the second best selling home console? I don't think the Wii surpassed it. Hard to consider one's credibility when they don't have their facts in order.
Whether the Switch will outsell the PS4, I doubt it. As a console it wont be able to compete with the PS4, as a handheld it has to compete with the 3DS (as long as it's still being made). I don't think 3DS developers are going to abandon it in lieu of the Switch, I also ...
@ Darth
Such an absurd comment. The onus isn't on the consumer to buy any product. If games aren't meeting sales expectation because of lack of consoles, as you say, then its up to the manufacturer to make a console more people want to buy (especially people that can only afford one console).
The responsibility lies with the manufacturer to make a good consoles and devs/pubs to release good games (speaking generally).
To expect ...
@ JasonKCK, comments like that make you seem desperate. Like when one bubble gets popped, you immediately fluster for the next one. Rinse and repeat, this whole gen. Try and be realistic here. There is nothing for PlayStation fans to be nervous of. Just like every other time PlayStation fans "were nervous" about Xbox... from the so-called secret sauce, second GPU chip, power of the cloud, greatest line up in Xbox history, etc. Nothing came from it. "The Scorpio release" wi...
Scorpio will have games that can't be played on Xbox One. Any VR only game will not be playable on Xbox One. Does that mean it's a new console?
So it looks nice and runs better than it's predecessor (which was already behind the curve by a pretty big margin), that's what you are so happy about? You have very low standards it seems.
They explained little about the benefits of the Switch and their online services other than capturing videos and a later date, and a free SNES/NES game per month (for the month only, which is a joke). According to the conference voice chat isn't even native, it requires an a...
Actually it's not misleading. The title states that the content is locked to one console, which it is. It's doesn't state that it's permanent or cannot be unlocked (deactivated). The content is always locked to one console until you unlock it. Where as with other consoles, even if it's not the primary console, you can still access the content on any other console as long as you sign in (no unlocking, or deactivating required), and you can even play the same games on two di...
