So one game from 3 years ago, and another handheld game from 5 years ago? I think you helped prove my point.

Dont get me wrong, Nintendo games are good, great even, but anyone can see they are held to their own standard. Which is totally fine, until Nintendo loyalists try and compare them to other AAA games that are obviously graded more critically, which is not fair to say the least. I mean, take this review for example. Is the stuff he said really...

Serious question, when was the last time Nintendo released a game with a rating over 90 that wasn't Mario, Zelda, or Mario Kart? We already know Mario and Zelda games get high scores, even though they clearly get graded on different standards than most AAA titles they are compared to. God forbid a Non Nintendo AAA game doesnt have a great story, good pacing, deep mechanics, current gen graphics, character development, etc. Good thing Nintendo games dont need m...

So now 4 year old games are insignificant huh, try and remember that next time a “new” older game gets announced for BC and you act like it’s the best thing since sliced bread. Or will 4 year old games matter then?

To be clear I don’t see an issue with what EA is doing in this particular scenario, I just find it funny that someone who rallies for older games to be accessible, acts so non chalant when an older game becomes inaccessible.

Clearly Lime in a troll, but assuming his figures are correct, adding in handhelds would give Nintendo a boost of about 272 million (between all gameboy and DS iterations), and Sony a boost of about 95 million (between PSP and Vita). Which would put Nintendo at a total of 552 million and Sony at 495 million. Also, Nintendo has been selling consoles almost 10 years longer than Sony (with almost double the amount of consoles released), and handhelds for 15 years before Sony, so there is that to...

I'm sorry, but did you just insinuate that the PS4 has triple the install base as Steam?

Actually I hear Nier is pretty lackluster on PC, not the actual story, but technical wise. They may have patched it though at this point though but I doubt it. Also, I don't believe Nioh came out on PC yet. Nice try though.

The original Xbox One doesnt support HDR. The Xbox One S and X do. That may be posing as an obstacle. I imagine the S and X getting HDR support but they have to figure out the right way to market it.

If the Xbox One X is defined by power then what defines the Xbox One? Weakness? Many will argue Playstation is currently defined by power and games. Take power away and that still leaves games. Games will always trump power. Consider the "most powerful" console wont be able to play a large number of AAA games (like Nier, Nioh, Persona 5, and many more); plus AAA games coming out (such as GoW, Days Gone, Spiderman, Death Stranding, Detroit, Ni No Kuni 2,...

@ deception

what proof? Microsoft said that the Xbox One X pre order allocation was for a weeks worth of sales, but sold out in a day, which is really good. But can that been indicative of proof of anything when you consider what the actual amount could be? Lets say Microsoft sells 200k Xbox Ones a month, a weekly supply would be 50k. Now Microsoft admits they anticipate the Xbox One X selling far less than the Xbox One, so a weekly allocation for that would be less than 50...

@345

Microsoft already did that. They abandoned the 360 and moved the games to launch window xbox one titles. Now you are saying you would have them abandon the current gen prematurely again? You think gamers will have confidence in a company that blows their load in the beginning of the gen just to abandon it halfway through to focus on the next gen twice?

@ zeref

It will also be 720p/60 on the Xbox One, which is what 99% of the Xbox playerbase will be.

Every PS4 console > 720p/60

Id recommend before Xbox gamers try and throw shade regarding power, they remember they are also throwing shade at the 99% of Xbox gamers that are playing on the weakest current gen console.

I am going to get these games for PS3 but if they get remastered for PS4 I would get that instead, after I get through a few more games of my backlog.

Most AAA titles that get reviewed for PS4 and Xbox One get many aspects placed under a lens. Such as how well the story is, how well character development is, does the game do a good job of explaining why the world if the way it is. Reading most of the Zelda reviews they seemed more concerned with the fact that you can travel to any place on the map that you can see, or that link can cook food, or weapons breaking. These are all cool things, but does a game g...

Guess that sucks for the 99% of Xbox gamers that will be playing the worse version.

I wonder if the people who try and brag about the Xbox One X having the "best version" realize they are actually taking jabs at Xbox One gamers that are not playing the "best version".

What does it matter if you are not oblivious to their stupid decisions if you still pay for their online service (when they do start charging)? You think not using their means of voice chat is going to send any kind of message that they need to change, if you still pay them their subscription?

Now I'm not saying don't buy a Switch or any of their games; but if you agree that their online infrastructure is crap (using a smartphone for co...

And the Xbox One will clearly be the worse version, right? Which will be the version most Xbox gamers will play, you know, since there will be way more Xbox One in the wild than the Xbox One X. Or will 90%+ of the player base of Xbox not count anymore?

People preach about Xbox One X getting the best version of a multi platform game and yet disregard the fact that the Xbox One S will also get the worse version of the same multi platform game. Considering Microsoft is expecting the Xbox One X to sell a fraction of the Xbox One consoles, I would say Xbox gamers are still getting the short end of the stick as more Xbox gamers will still be playing the worse version of every multi platform game for the foreseeable future. You can't brag abou...

Kinect sold like hot cakes because a Microsoft made promises of Kinect being a part of the core gaming experience, not to mention a lot of Kinects were sold for use on PC unrelated to gaming. The peripheral has little to no relevant support for core gaming, and people realized this after they already made the purchase. Sure it sold very well, but what came from it? They launched the Kinect 2 as a requirement for the Xbox One, and as a result the Xbox One was over priced and didn't sell as...

Ita pretty obvious what Jim Ryan meant by that statement. Either you are not smart enough to understand it or just trolling, you choose.

He isnt saying that indies are not important or less important. In fact, he specifically says he is not saying they arent important in the statement you quoted. He is merely stating in regards to the messaging they were conveying at the E3 press conference (what they wanted to talk about), they opted not to give ...
