It’s not that a 7.8 is a bad score; but when you give certain Nintendo titles a 10 because they are charming and fun, while lacking character development and any real challenge in combat, then turn around and deduct points from this game for it... it’s just obvious that certain games are weighed differently. If this was a Nintendo made game I bet they would have given it anywhere between a 9 to 10.
@ denawayne
They could have delayed it for any number of reasons. Make improvements, a better release window, temper expectations, increase hype... who knows. Improving graphics isn’t always the reason. To be honest, I wouldn’t expect any relevant improvements in visuals either. The game doesn’t look visually impressive at all, the style looks antiquated and not very AAA-esque. That’s not to say the game won’t be fun, obviously that won’t be known until it’s released.

The same way people manipulate stock prices until they drop, buy them up, then when the prices rise again they make a killing.
In their current relationship Respawn owns the IPs and makes a larger portion of money. EA could have devalued them (an otherwise reputable studio) by sabotaging the IPs (making sure the games don't sell as well), then buy the studio. That way they own the IPs and have more control over the studio in every way.
When you use the words "keeps shrinking", it makes it sound as if there are numerous games that have been pushed back to 2019. That doesn't seem to be the case, so yes you said something that wasn't right.
@ krib and Darth
So you don't think the fact PS4 has more games available effects the attach rate of individual titles? When a gamer walks into a store with $60 and goes to the Xbox section and sees newly released titles like For Honor and Wild lands... and another gamer with $60 walks into the PlayStation section and sees newly released titles such as For Honor, Wildlands, Horizon, Nioh, and Nier... you don't think there is a smaller chance the PS4 gamer will buy a...
@ wolly
It's four years into the gen and you want to talk about games being in production behind the scenes? That's the problem. So when are these games being released? 2019/2020? Next gen? The perception is Microsoft has been focusing on hardware and older games, but not new experiences (games). While Sony has been trying to set itself apart by securing exclusive games, Microsoft has been trying to set itself apart by allowing gamers to buy another console that can...
@ williamsheridan
Wouldn’t you need to know the total number of Xbox One sales to calculate attach rate? Being as Microsoft hasn’t released sales figures in a long time, how could you possibly know the attach rate? I’d like to know how you did your research, other than making uneducated guesses.
@ picosmoip
The fact of the matter is... whatever matters to gamers, be it exclusives, multiplats, or anything else... PlayStation has it. This is evident because to this day PlayStation outsells Xbox by a large margin worldwide.
People making excuses about the beginning of this gen won't change the facts. PlayStation was pummeling Xbox from the beginning in part to Microsoft's errors, no doubt. But it has continued and will continue to do so beca...
@ williamsheridan
Many gamers had enough foresight to know that that within the coming years the PlayStation 4 would continue to get a variety of exclusives while the Xbox One would become a multiplatform machine. All the evidence was there last gen, when the 360 pretty much blew it's load in the beginning, then turned into a Halo/Gears/Forza console, to eventual non existent support. Meanwhile the PlayStation 3 continued to get exclusive games up to the end it it's...
And the additional content?
@ videogamelab
Not for nothing, saying 2018 couldn't get any better by stating 3 games that already released within the same year back in 2015 (Halo, Forza, and state of decay released in 2015 so half your list looks the same as a 2015 list) and two games that were supposed to be already released (crackdown 3 and sea of thieves, neither of which look like flagship titles) is quite laughable. In fact, 2018 could have absolutely been better for Microsoft had they invested...
@ wolly
Expensive beta you say? You mean like spending $500 on a machine so PUBG can be played at around 20FPS. I bet you would recommend that, huh.
You can start damage control now.
On topic, I'll be picking up the new VR headset for my birthday.
@ wolly
Instead of worry about PlayStation, perhaps you should concern yourself with your Xbox brethren. You know, the 99% of them that have to play Microsoft's holy Grail PUBG with N64 textures, at sub 15 frames (use the game preview excuse all you want, but I'd wager the game will always be shit on the original Xbox). Perhaps you should point your voice at Microsoft to take better care of the 30 million gamers that bought an Xbox. Less than a million get to play t...
@ maybelovehate
Wasted money? Tell that to the 28 million or so Xbox gamers that have been and will continue to play the inferior version of games. Or the millions of Xbox gamers that bought launch models for $500 with the mandatory, and now abandoned, Kinect. Or the millions of gamers that bought into the promise of exclusives, and now four years into the generation, with what to show?
Or could it be that the less than a million Xbox One X gamers are th...

Knack was a launch title and first party. Bloodborne was co developed by Sony. Drive club is first party. Horizon Zero Dawn was released closer to 3 years after PS4 launch. So what exactly are you referring when you say Sony took around 4 years to produce one ‘new’ game?
If you are looking to have meaningful debates, then make meaningful statements.
@ tank
I’m confused. You don’t feel 4k30 is a valid target for PC, so you traded in your PC for 4k30 gaming on a console? That doesn’t seem to make sense. Surely you could have just used your existing PC and gotten the same performance as the Xbox one X (4k30), and saved even more money for that future project.
@ septic
Didnt Nintendo fanboys just do everything you stated when Jimquisition have BotW a 7/10? Then they blindly started doing it again with Mario. Except they are too blinded to even check to see if the thing they are raging about is legitimate. Its not like they had to do any research to confirm its legitmiacy, they could have just checked metacritic or his site and figured out it was fake, but noooo, lets just go straight to psycho. Thats the very definition of being ...
@ phantom
If any other developer released a game with an unoriginal story, no character development, last gen graphics, simple gameplay mechanics; that was just fun, had collectibles, was charming and nostalgic... for $60... they would not get a 10/10.
I just went and re watched IGNs Zelda BoTW review and Mario Odyssey review, it’s so obvious they have different standards for certain games.
