So septic acknowledges that Microsoft needs to change their policy of locking F2P games behind paywall, yet it only gets one sentence? Where are the articles demanding them change such an "anti consumer" policy? He writes paragraphs complaining about Sony, but only a sentence about Microsoft not allowing players to play a free game without shelling out money. What's worse, not being able to play with a certain competiting console or not being able to play a game at all? Hmm. <...

@ chickey

Almost every Spiderman game prior has had either clunky controls or poor combat (or both), so this game is not more of the same in that regard because it's confirmed to have fluid controls and a good fighting system (similar to Batman Arkham series). And the only thing it shared with Batman is the fighting (melee). Batman does not run on walls in the Arkham series and from the looks of it the slinging isn't as seem less as in Spiderman. So I'm not sure...

And some people are salty it's not available on their preferred platform.

That's understandable. Did you give the multiplayer a shot? It was so refreshing IMO, very good and addicting. I preferred it over Uncharted multiplayer (not saying it was bad or anything).

Good thing for those who didn't have an opportunity to play one of the greatest games of all time because they didn't own a PS3, and jumped ship to PS4 (reckon there were a lot of them too).

Are you a fan of starving your userbase during the later years, because you want to horde games for the launch of your next console? Personally I like playing new, compelling games during the whole life of a console.

My take on the matter is not allowing cross play isn't that big of a deal to most gamers when looking at the whole picture. Sony provides compelling games to gamers, which is why more gamers buy their console. If it were a priority feature, and the PS4 didn't have it, people wouldn't buy it. It's that simple. It's like backwards compatibility, a nice feature, but at the end of the day focusing on providing a user base with more new games is what matters most. Evidence? Des...

Microsoft's presentation was good, but let's be honest here, you can sub out the Xbox logos for PS logos for most of it and it would be a PlayStation conference. That just shows how many of the games they showed will end up on PS4 and how many will be exclusively on their console. Sure, a lot of Sony's games will come to Xbox too, but a big chunk of the show focused on 4 AAA games that won't (three are new IPs rather). Microsoft's conference looked better, but Sony's h...

Wait... so it cant be both? Is that an impossibility for Microsoft? Guess your standards are pretty low.

I have linked my battlefield account with my PS3/Xbox 360 with Battlefield 3 and with my PS4/Xbox One for Battlefield 4 with no issues. I could see my stats for each game/console perfectly fine. Not sure how that 3rd party account works fine with PS4 and other platforms, but Fortnite doesn't. The blame might not be completely on Sony (or it may, who knows) because they allow linked accounts with other consoles for other games. The statement makes it seem like the issue stems from the lack...

Didn't Microsoft have the expectation of selling over 100 million Xbox Ones? If so, then only selling a third would be considered a failure. Of course they wouldn't admit that and probably deflect the failure with success in other less meaningful stats.

- TLoU and Ghost werent at E3 two years ago. Death Stranding was announced e3 2016. And this year was the first time gameplay was shown on those titles. So not sure where you are getting "the exact same stuff last year and the year before that" nonsense.

And people may have been expecting more from Microsoft regarding the near future considering their last few years have been lackluster exclsuivs wise (and apparently the near future as w...

You mean kind of like how crow was served when you were doing damage control about the crackdown 3 delay, and a day later it was confirmed? How'd that taste?

Anyway, in topic. I don't think anyone is suprised by the acquisition of playground games and undead labs as they have been dealing with Microsoft as second party studios for a while now. Ninja Theory is a good acquisition in my opinion since I really like their games, I th...

Tied for my favorite game of last year, with probably the best soundtrack in recent memory (in my opinion). Xbox gamers are in for a treat and I hope many play the game.

Developers would still have to produce quality games because they compete for our dollar, even if there is only one platform. There are almost 80 million PS4 sold and probably a bit over 30 million Xbox Ones sold, so it’s a safe assumption that there are 40 million gamers with only one console (excluding Switch). So having a single platform would have little, if any, effect on the quality of games developers make. Hardware wise, Sony would still have to make a quality console since people cou...

Obscure Observer was in that article saying the game wasn't delayed based on Aaron Greenbergs comment. A day later, confirmed delay. Lol, wonder where he/she is at now after being so adamant yesterday.

Anyway, I'm glad the game is delayed versus being cancelled (I know a lot of people are looking forward to this game, not me personally though), just wish Microsoft extended the same courtesy to Scalebound, I was looking forward to that game and it was one of the main...

I think you mean Zelda's attach ratio, which is very high (amount of Zelda games sold relative to Switch sales). The Switch attach ratio is the amount of Switch sales relative to the amount of total games sold for it.

Didn't Microsoft release inflated player numbers for SoT, but then after the Gamepass trial ended, the numbers plummeted? Gamepass benefits Microsoft, if the numbers stick. I can't see any benefits if people continue to use/play it only during trials (other than publicizing inflated numbers for games during launch periods).

Now I could be wrong, and feel free to correct me if I am, but it seems blackout mode is mostly reused assets. From what I gathered from the presentation, past killstreaks, characters, and maps are just mashed together to make a large black out mode. With the exception of vehicles, what's really new about it? They are adding the mode, but reusing the content... Is that really adding anything new?

The game looked like black ops 3 just with mi...
