I agree PlayStation has been the best platform mainly due to its library. But to use the PS2 as some kind of justification that power has always been secondary is a bit misleading. The PS2 was releleased a year and a half before the GameCube and almost 2 years before the original Xbox. It was weaker because it came out much earlier, not because of some conscious decision by Sony. They had no point of reference. Anytime there were aligned releases Sony had the stronger console, PS1 was stronge...

Being around and being competitive are two different things. They are still around because they are profitable. You can be profitable without being competitive, mainly by keeping operating expenses low. Something Nintendo is very good at considering what goes into their systems are usually behind the curve which saves them money; most their games don't have high production cost since they only have to be fun and not technically advanced in anyway; God knows what little money they spent on...

What do you mean like they always have? Of their last 4 consoles, only 1 was competitive. The N64, GameCube, and WiiU were not very competitive (not saying they were bad consoles). The Switch is doing amazing, but I don’t consider it a console but rather a very powerful handheld that can output games on a TV. I honestly don’t think it’s fair to compare the Switch to current consoles, so forget about comparing them to next gen consoles. You buy a Switch for Nintendo exclusives and/or to play g...

November 2013 to March 2017 is not 4 years. The Switch was released a little under 3 years and 4 months after the competition.

Rise of the Tomb Raider for PS4 was released almost a year after Xbox One got it, that was back in 2016. Microsoft paid SquareEnix to keep a whole game off PS4 because they wanted “their own Uncharted” (initially they didn’t give a date, probably because they wanted to mislead people into thinking it was an exclusive). I think paying to keep a whole game off other platforms is more egregious (unless it’s being published or funded in a way) than paying to keep a sub-section of one game mode of...

Sony's commitment to quality games is sending my cash to them. But I guess it's silly of me to use games as a means to gauge where to spend money.

I don’t think the main motivator for people subscribing to Gamepass is to play Gears, but rather all the promos Microsoft have been having. They have practically given Gamepass away up to this point. I don’t think, at this point in time, Gamepass would have nearly as many subs if people had to pay $9.99/month or $14.99/month. Don’t get me wrong, having Gears available definitely helps and may have pushed people who were on the fence; but without the promos like $1/...

Aren't Xbox exclusives also available to PC gamers? That should make up for the disparity between PS4 and Xbox One consoles in the wild, in regards to availability.

My comment was about how Microsoft handles their first party developers, as stated in my comment, so Titanfall, Ori, Quantumbreak, and Sunset Overdrive are irrelevant to that point (as I am sure Microsoft didn’t have the same leverage they have with developers they own). State of Decay 2, Crackdown 3, and Sea of Thieves absolutely had monetization as a priority, it’s called Gamepass (Micro-transactions aren’t the only way to monetize gamers). These games were the p...

Had you watched the video you might have understood one of the points he is making. A console makers priority is to push consoles (its a trickle effect for other things like increased software). This is done by putting quality as a priority in their games. It gives a reason for gamers to buy their consoles. This is the approach Sony and Nintendo take with their first party developers. Make good games for your console and people will want to play said games on your console. Microsoft is diffe...

There have been 7 God of War games, 9 if you want to count mobile games. There have been 9 Halo games, 11 if you count mobile. Plus another one on the way.

Uncharted has 6 games and 2 spin-offs (mobile and card game). Gears of War has 6 games and 2 spin-offs (funco pop game and strategy game).

How do you expect people to take you seriously when what you say is nonsense? The reason people say Halo, Gears, Forza are tired franchise...

Then people would be calling it the “plus” button. By definition a cross is a mark formed by lines that intersect. So “X” is a cross symbol.

I understand they make the OS required for the PC to run, but I’m not sure you can consider Microsoft holding the lions share of the PC gaming market. The revenue they make off the OS is a single occurrence (it’s purchase), even Direct X usage for PC is royalty free (I believe) so they don’t make money from it. Unless you buy a game off Windows Store, Microsoft’s share in PC gaming is not effected. I think we both can agree that Windows Store isn’t where a majori...

Microsoft likes to make their games as close to “4K/60” as possible. 4K resolution, 60 Metacritic score.

On topic, the PC gameplay footage looks good. The Xbox One X version will look and run good as well. The other 90%.... ehhh.

The problem with the question of PS4 vs Switch is that a vacuum is being created. Now if you want to compare the two in that vacuum, your example doesn't make much sense. Switch has 14 games rated above 90, while PS4 has 30. So you would be choosing a platform with less higher rated games. Now I know what you are going to say, most of the PS4 games aren't exclusive. Well in this vacuum they technically are. Because most of the games are not playable on the Switch. The point of exclusi...

You sure Microsoft didn’t announce the acquisition on September 15th, 2014? After the PS4 release.

Also, yes it was a brilliant move to buy Mojang and the IP, however, Microsoft didn’t make the game. You are just deflecting the fact that Microsoft didn’t have anything to do with the creation of the game, by stating something irrelevant to the point being made.
