People can argue this and that but what Microsoft are talking about, improving the performance of their box by 4 times or however many times is unrealistic.

This was my specific focus.

Can Microsoft improve the performance of Xbox One by 4 times by having a decent internet connection? No. Not with existing infrastructure for most people.

If they could and it was easy, then it should already be happening.

The fact you haven...

"Also Vulcan, onlive has been streaming PC games at medium settings as of 2008. At higher quality than the last gen consoles were capable of. "

Onlive or Gaikai is nothing like the same concept Microsoft have been/are talking about.

Onlive does everything server side, rendering the whole game, including compressing the output video with special hardware, and all you do is stream the video/sound down and send your controller...

Indeed how low can you go?

An 'OK' connection is not sufficient for anything but very basic movement of data. Remember the arguments about whether Xbox One has 100GB/s of memory bandwidth or 200 odd GB/s of memory bandwidth?

All that memory bandwidth is required to move data quickly about for modern games processing. Yet you think that maybe 128mb/s internet connection even will be able to massively affect how a game looks? (128mb/s is a 1 gigabit internet connection BTW)

Do yo...

Well we spoke about this ages ago.

IF you have monster bandwidth, and IF you have fantastic latency all the time, and IF your connection is the most reliable the world has ever seen, and IF Xbox Live never goes down, you might be able to get some advantages.

So 'technically' it's correct, but realistically it's a pipe dream presently for the vast vast majority of connected gamers. 'Technically' you can send men to Mars. But that doesn&...

I had the magazine shown in the picture. I remember buying it because I was mad for GT. I remember having a really thick 200 odd page GT2 tips book that came with PLAY magazine. It had all the cars, the tracks, the races, the winnings and such in it. It wasn't really cheats just lots of useful info. PLAY used to knock out a lot of books like that.

We're talking about 14 years ago now. How frightening for me as an old man it was that long ago. I'm scared now I'...

One man's pipedream is another man's fact.

It is in the world of console wars anyway

It depends how large the sales disparity actually is. If it isn't that big then Sony will just sit back and do nothing and let the Titanfall hype and bundling die down, then jump back on top.

After all, they have offered very few deals up until now because well, they didn't have to to shift consoles!

If retailers maintain this sort of massive price slashing and bundling for Xbox One to move stock then maybe Sony will consider some minor deals, but I i...

There have been huge price slashes for some places as well.

Gamestop had the Titanfall bundle for £369.99 for quite long periods with a lot of stock. Ebuyer offers it at £375, Argos now has a deal where you get Titanfall and Thief for £399.99. Shop play have the basic machine for £349.99. This is 80 pounds slashed off the price only a month ago! Asda, Zavvi, Dabs, Maplin etc all with various deals that cut money off or bundle. You can barely move for all t...

You think an Xbox One game in Dx11 would run like crap on a PC with a Titan black graphics card in it?

Okaaaayyyy lol

Titan black is an easy 4 times faster than Xbox One's GPU

Really the demo was about how easy it was to port games to other Microsoft platforms with differing performance and updated directX.

Well pretty much what I said. That it'll take ages to arrive and not matter to Xbox One. The figures thrown around for it aren't going to apply to console either.

It'll benefit PC most, Xbox One will just get gradual updates to improve it just as PS4 will.

The fact is they are largely CPU performance related also isn't a big deal for consoles which share the same CPU architecture, but have a large disparity in GPU performance....

Who doesn't?

It's hardly an Xbox One exclusive

The image quality is just really sweet on this game I seen it in all the shots and it isn't just some post process or downscaled bullshot cheating like most games, it's actually just really good anti aliasing!

On a console!!!

Turn on PC and play- probably the best version.

That's all I do, do you think you need to do a rain dance or something to get the game to work on PC?

GTX670 aren't older cards no.

Which was my point, a single GTX670 will run Titanfall maxed 1920 x 1080 and easily 80FPS+ average. Higher resolutions no problems. The game just isn't demanding.

Or just take the battery out of the laptop if you plan to use it on mains power for long periods.

These gains mirror the impressive performance per watt of the new GTX750ti. GTX750ti is a desktop part that uses only 60 watts max but performs BETTER than an AMD Radeon R7 260X with a 115 watt TDP.

It'll be the same architecture used here.

Yep, it's the amount of RAM. However COD Ghosts was also that high and then proven it doesn't use remotely as much and was an artificially high requirement.

A mod came to bypass it.

We'll see if Watch Dogs really needs all that RAM, cos if it doesn't, someone will bypass it within days if it's actually a requirement to execute, I guarantee it.

I have my suspicions it'll probably run perfectly fine on 4GB RAM. Mainly be...

Multi GPU issues?

It's only an issue for those with much older, very slow multi card setups.

Which will be a tiny tiny majority of PC gamers.

Everyone else with multi cards will just disable one card and still blow away the game compared to the Xbox One version. FFS a $130 single card annihilates the Xbox One version in terms of rez and filtering.

It's so undemanding Multi GPU is hardly required

Facepalm at ulf again.

Xbox One's framerate tallies up to what an R7 260X does there. http://media.gamersnexus.ne...

Near 60FPS average, 1 percent minimum > than 33FPS

Except the R7 260X runs the game 1920 x 1080 which is virtually TWICE the resolution of Xbox One, and 8 x AA, which is 4 times the AA samples (...
