However well coded stuff can run even better on a considerably slower card! For example, source engine has been developed for Pc for many years and its exceptionally efficient. Thus even low end cards like the radeon 5550 beat the consoles easily-Left 4 dead 2. Xbox 360 runs the game 720p/30FPS with no anti aliasing and below maximum settings.

Doesnt take much of a machine to beat the consoles hands down at gaming which is generally the objective i think. I use my Pc for a lot more though, so i spend a fair bit on it. Still i save a fortune in games every year over the price of console versions.

Why are you so angry? Its ridiculous. I have seen these videos and noticed minor differences. As with a lot of multi platform games, there is no real conclusive evidence for me that says one version is entirely better than the other visually. These machines have different hardware, and as a result render even supposedly identical assets subtly different. Such is life, many years of experience with video cards and image quality tests.

Hmm. Some aspects on PS3 look sharper for sure, whereas either the skin shader or specular maps for character faces look more realistic and subtle on 360.
The video is hardly conclusive, its short and not of very good quality. We also dont know the framerate, 360 version was still known to suffer considerable drops in intensive sequences. However there is enough there to determine that any differences are slight and wont stop this from being a welcome release for PS3 owners...
Halve the number of adverts, halve the number of Z grade jokes which i found either pointlessly obnoxious or exceptionally patronising, give the show a lot more intelligence. If the new engine is any good it'll scale for the consoles and it'll scale upwards massively for modern PCs...No doubt another console generation would move the game on literally but that doesnt mean the Pc version has to be held back.
Certainly looks rather underwhelming....disappointed to be truthful if 6970 only just keeps up with the GTX570. Im going to buy one of these by friday, and its looking more and more like the Nvidia.

The selection of 360 race wheels isnt stellar by any means. Microsoft just refuse to support common popular wheels probably down to the fact they want a bunch of cash from the manufacturers to slap an official license sticker on it.

I agree about the wheel thing. It might help if Microsoft sorted compatability with the better race wheels out there like the logitech G series- Its a pretty big deely for hardcore racers to have a nice wheel and pedal set i wish i could use my G27 with this that works perfectly with GT5 and my PC.....

Actually Brian B according to metacritic PS3 has 8 games over 90 that cannot be found on any other platform and i count 7 on 360. PS3 did come out a year later too, so lets not be too harsh...
Course i do have a PC so i cant count many 360 games as all of them i preferred to play on my Gaming PC
The problem i have with that for 360 is that many of those games REQUIRE a kinect to work. You CANNOT play them otherwise. In other words if you want to play half those games on 360 you need to stump up for a kinect as well. Even if microsoft sell 10 million of the things, its still gonna leave the vast majority of 360 owners out in the cold.

This is because the key component for most games is the GPU, most games are GPU bound and not CPU bound. Problem with the cell is trying to balance the threaded load, sometimes more threads does not automatically = win simply because you are constantly juggling to get maximum efficiency.
