The reaction to this game is a classic case of good old days syndrome. People are remembering those old games a little too fondly imo. They were very casual friendly. As for content, this new game has plenty of maps and modes for the most part, though I do wish the 40 player modes had more maps. Luckily, at least one more map will be released soon for everyone and they've said there will be more free content.
Edit: I don't disagree with that score btw, though my own ...
They aren't the only ones reporting this, so what's your point?
"The Crysis series is heavily criticized for being all fluff and no content (all graphics and mediocre gameplay). You're not giving Battlefront a pass for this, are you?"
This only makes sense if the same person said both things.
I played the hell out of both old Battlefronts and I enjoy this game despite the differences.
"So what I get from your review is as long as it "looks" good/ authentic to the movies it's an 8/10?"
What I get from your comment is that you didn't actually read the comment you were replying to.
"Cod actually takes way more skill than this casual garbage."
That made me laugh. BF reminds me of CoD, and both are extremely casual friendly. For some that's a negative but the old BFs were very casual as well.
Count me on your side. I was away from my PS4 for 5 days and the first thing I did when I got home was play Battlefront.
Your comment is funny, but not for the reasons you probably intended. It's like watching a fail compilation on YouTube.
@Razor - A quick Google search shows that Halo 5's launch was in fact not flawless.
OT - I'm just glad I had no trouble logging in when I got back home sunday night. I was really jonesing for some Battlefront after 5 days without it.
Nice. Loving this game.
They should put things back like they were. At the first of the beta the imperials won the vast majority of the time, but by the end of the beta the rebels seemed to be getting the idea. Now the rebels win all the time. : /
I'm assuming they changed something after the beta...
"...but this is a reboot."
Some people can't seem to get that through their heads, but they're also the same people who have have foggy memories concerning those older games. Good old days syndrome is a terrible thing.
I'd say Call of Duty, but Halo definitely falls into that same group of games.
"There is NOTHING about Battlefront that is in any way similar to Battelfront 2."
I disagree. The general flow and feel of the action is very much like Battlefront of old, especially in 3rd person. From my point of view this game is very much like those old games, minus a couple of modes.
I wish I could look into an alternate universe and see the reaction to this game if it simply had Space Battles added to it, or Galactic Conquest. I think most of ...
The casual label, when meant as a negative, is just used by posers who want to think of themselves as hardcore.
It's been a funny thing to me, but it seems that the people who talk the loudest about this game not being like the older games don't actually have much of a memory about the older games.
Did MS announce that it was their plan all along to be dominated by PS4?
Oh. Then… nope.
Jmanzare was making fun of a typo.
Back off on your defense mode throttle! She can't take anymore, Captain!
You honestly believe that all the things you listed are killer features?
Edit @response above - Wow. Well I'm glad MS is catering to your gaming needs.
"But no one on here has anything to do with what you are saying.
They can disagree all they want but people like myself enjoy games not sitting there discussing numbers about what did well and what didn't."
You didn't seem to read what akurtz said so I'll try to rephrase. More sales means more support. More support means more games to play. Gamers enjoy playing games, so everyone here should know that having more games to choose from is...
