If too many people wait a year or longer PSVR is far more likely to lose developer support and therefore fail. I feel like early developer support is pretty strong so I'll go ahead and purchase one, provided I'm impressed when I demo PSVR for myself of course, and provided the price is right. For me, that means $399 or lower. Not gonna pay more than I paid for my PS4.
"I think the PSVR will cost close to the same as the Xbox1...Then PS4 owners thinking of getting the Xbox1...might instead choose the PSVR…"
Ladies and gentlemen, William Shatner!
I agree completely though. Good point I hadn't thought about.
Come on Sony, be smart about the price. *fingers crossed*
I'll be very surprised if PSVR costs $200/250 or lower. I think that's an unrealistic expectation but maybe I'll be proven wrong.
Selective perception can be a serious problem.
"software sales are another story"
I hope you're not referencing that very misleading title that says "console" when the article itself has numbers from every platform MS has a hand in.
This title and article are clearly about the consoles only.
Dreams is confirmed. You're right about Driveclub though.

Looks like most people are simply saying the title is misleading, which it definitely is.
The title is clearly misleading. Calling people names doesn't change that.
@tim - That is some tortured logic. Fact. You basically confirmed what Jayszen said, by the way. Anyone would read that title and think "Oh ok, so 360 and XB1 had a higher attachment rate than PS3 and PS4 (and maybe Vita)".
@Decepticon - "Lol at people criticizing the article title."
That title is extremely misleading.
I guess you haven't been following this topic for long.
That was my question. This isn't new information.
Yeah if Bethesda announces that the next Elder Scrolls will be PSVR compatible I'll have to sit down from the resulting excited dizziness.

Don't know whether PSVR will do it, but it's possible. I wouldn't buy a special copy of movies I already own though. I'd just want to use my existing collection or anything I buy/rent from the PS Store's movie section.
If you had stopped to think for a second instead of following your fanboy urges blindly, you'd have remembered that PS4 has a web browser.
Why bother to respond when you obviously didn't read what you're responding to?
The reviews of that game will be worth reading. I'd expect pretty low scores though if I were you.
"Unfortunately being tied down with a bunch of wires is going to make this experience less than ideal."
Depends on what sort of game you're playing. I'm primarily interested in VR experiences that will immerse me in the world and track my head movements while I use the controller, simply sitting on the couch in my normal gaming spot.
The only PSVR experience I've seen so far that this puts a damper on for me is The Walk.
"With this new information raising the overall price by some margin…"
With this huge leap having been taken...
That's actually a decent selling point, depending on the quality of course. Sort of like being able to remote play PS4 if someone else is using the TV. If you can watch movies with it I don't see why playing regular games would be a huge problem.
I think Sony, or maybe it was some "insider", said they were going to rely heavily on word of mouth to advertise PSVR. Going that route they have to know the thing won't sell a million right away. People will need time to demo it for themselves. I know I'll be trying it out as soon as I can. As for the price I never expected it to be less than $300.
