@joholden - Damn, that's one long opinion. Don't fool yourself into thinking it's anything more than that.
Very cool series, imo. The included levels are fun on their own, but when the creative part of the community gets going, it's becomes virtually endless.
It took me awhile to get into the game because the UI is so obviously meant for a mouse, but once I got used to it I really started to love it.
"people have been blindly bit<hin about Battlefront, ever since "no space combat" was announced"
Yeah some guy here keeps posting an old comparison chart that was made before there was much info announced about the new game. He apparently feels he's dropping the mic every time he posts it… "I'll just leave this here…", but most of the chart is either misinformation, comparisons that may or may not be meaningful when judging if a game i...
Nope. It plays more like the old Battlefronts than any Battlefield I've ever played.
Sales never fooled me into thinking CoD was a great game. It's just not my style of game and I don't enjoy playing it, unlike the SWBF beta which grew on me over the weekend. The old Battlefronts had that same very basic gameplay and feel.
"...I usually end up being right"
Funny stuff.
OT - One month before release is not the time to get concerned. If you liked the beta, you'll like the game. I loved the beta after spending lots of time with it so I'll be preordering.
The beta was balanced just fine. The rebels just didn't get their act together as fast. By last night I was seeing much closer matches with the rebels winning way more often. Hell I saw a walker brought down during the first part of the level. At the beginning of this open beta I agreed with you, but now I hope they don't change much.
As for the jetpacks thing, I don't know what you mean by personal helicopters since they function nothing like one, and putting pla...
Hard to pick one, but seeing a smoking snowspeeder fly over and explode against the side of an AT-AT was pretty damn cool. Loved the sound of the snow speeders when flying them too, especially with headphones. Too bad I'm close to a non-factor in the air, though I did take down a few TIEs with an A-Wing once. Fun stuff.
"No MP only game is worth every penny"
That's as silly as saying every game with a single player campaign is worth every penny.
Yes I read that the "spawn at partner" thing will be removed, so I'm not sure what the point of having one is.
Old chart. Easily picked apart. Hate on.
The online haters are easily the minority on this one, I think.
Your comment doesn't make much sense, but I'll promise you this… SWBF will sell very very very well, and many will buy it on day one because they enjoyed the beta.
There are season passes I wish I'd bought, some I wish I hadn't, and some I'm glad I didn't. I'd say Battlefield 4's DLC was worth it as a package deal so maybe SWBF's will be too.
But as I see above, some people will knee jerk and scream "Screw EA!".
Not really. This is an old chart made by a person who apparently wasn't interested in realistic comparisons.
Number of maps : Ok, less maps, but personally I played 3 or 4 of the old game's maps over and over so I can't say which is better yet.
Number of players : Ok, less players, but more players doesn't mean a better game, and other design choices can make a smaller player count feel bigger.
Space Battles : Don't care. ...
You can party up with 8 people, but only one is your "partner".
Realistically PS4 gamers will be playing the best selling and possibly highest scoring games over the holidays. It's not a claim that they have the most games to choose from, it's a solid fact. It's not a claim that they have more high reviewed games to choose from, it's a solid fact. In all fairness PS4 has more games of all types.
Do you actually think everyone finds those games you listed to be "amazing"? Four of them don't interest me at all. I'll definitely be playing Battlefront.
OT - Depends on what you want in a console, which console your friends play on, which controller you prefer, and which exclusives you prefer. If you don't have one of them, yes you should buy one or both of them.
People just don't know what to do. After days of playing and never seeing a rebel win, they won twice in a row earlier. That team obviously knew what to do, while my team hardly even tried to activate the uplinks when we were rebels. They'd gather around them and "defend" them without actually turning them on. I thought it was a balance problem at first, but I changed my mind today.
This generation of VR may or may not be, but VR will eventually be a huge deal without a doubt.
