Why does Justin look like he has been shrunk by cgi?

Should he not have handed it into teacher to mark instead?

How embarrasing to be so off the mark! Does he expect everyone to believe him as a superior reviewer over the torrent of 90+'s from other more mature sources?

Oh dear.

That is a great trailer.

The same people who think this game has a 'level editor' lol.

The only thing that annoys me is that Greg mentioned some woes he had with create as being a nebgative point. I can promise that the solutions to his problems do exist but not that he has the skill or brain power required to solve it without help!

You can see that as a criticism if you like but LBP has real depth to it's tools and can be treated as a programming language in itself. People were making working calculators on the previous game after all.

Quicktime events a whole generation before Quicktime. Kids today... :)

My release day PS3 has survived countless harsh and demanding games over the years. It finally broke yesterday and GT5 did it.

Buying a new slim and getting the old unit repaired to data transfer. That will learn it :)

Hill or ramp, takeoff is easy at speed. The problem is the car surviving the landing. GT obviously does not simlulate stunt car driving but the video is still cool and it must have taken some time to get it right :)

Lol, are you actually proposing that they should have programed a correct physics response for this situation??? Are you mad?

It is a funny video though. I like the way the drivers head is still looking up the track :)

Must be hard to recreate. I love GT5, long may it last.

Not sure if you can boast about having realistic guns without having realistic injuries.

Physical damage is not linked to levelling up in GT5. It is there from the start.

Damage may well be an element in races and it does punish those who abuse the car, put themselves in danger with reckless driving, drive 150mph into a wall (anyone who would do 150mph on a real life track on their first drive deserves damage but it is common with arcade gamers who don't have a clue or cannot get involved in the role playing and simulation/car porn of the game), etc, etc

The game seems balanced so far to me. I was simply sitting on the devs shoulder playing devils advocate. Learning to drive 100 cars takes a while, even for the Stig :)

For damage to mean anything at all, you need to figure what it is going to bring to the game.

Where do you stop?

- At high speed, impacts cause a total writeoff of the car with the bill of a new one charged to the player.

- If the crash is fatal, the savegame is wiped and the player has to create a new career.

- Mechanical damage can make your car conk out 4ft from the finish line of a 50 lap endurance race.

Well said acedoh. The fact that most people don't get it makes it all the more entertaining. 'We love cars' is so spot on.

Or meerkat, you could read the article and it's constant praise for what the game is managing. Taking a hit on shadows (an effect) for 16 car races (a feature) is why skilled Polyphony workers got the job and why others get so much time to troll.

Let's hope a patch comes out and takes them all out. Then you can look at 200 cars and drive 200 cars instead of look at 200 cars and drive 1000.

This 'comments section' is one epic fail of embarrassing children playing playground games.

Own both, play both. Forza is great but has GT to thank for even existing. GT5 has faults but lighting and car model detail shame Forza by a nearly ageneration. Shame GT5 has lots of loose ends that need to be sorted out but if they get sorted then all the better.

Lens of truth fail in epic proportions with this basic comparison. I liked them before now too! I look to Eurogamer for some in depth on GT5.

I hate to admit it but Japan really is falling behin...

You say the roadside scenery was better? I would agree that more polygons seem to have been spent in that other game (that shall not be named) on scenary but it looked like a pastal fantasy cartoon land (not literally!). The tearing on GT5 is rare and a compromise that seems fair to me, given the photo-realistic impact of any given frame as a whole.

The lighting and palette combined with enough polys to at least leave the cars looking not only real (thanks to the fantastic l...

I drive karts in reverse for a living (I knew it would come in handy one day). They go that fast in reverse with the correct gearing.
