I was going to buy it but a friend mentioned that even though the game lets you save at any time, it put you back in the town.
Is this right? I was really looking to get this but I only get time to play in small chunks so the ability to start off from the position I save is a must. Anyone?
Well I guess after reading that well thought out article, I am no longer going to purchase this game.
I hear they forgot to model the Ipod dock in the BMW 5 series dash too.
No excuses Polyphony.

What a paranoid world we live in!
Even if you do want to really compare 3 games that are literally on 3 different planets then are we talking artstyle or technical competence?
Killzone is full of mayhem. The whole scene is alive, dirty, animated and analogue.
Rage is very pretty (well outside it is) and has great artstyle with massive, colourful textures.
Crysis sort of has elements of both.
If all 3 are goo...
It is shaded on the Cell though :)
Inspired from the film, 'Risky Business'. I prefer this version though:)
The sound effects are amazing on this game. Impresses me more than the graphics!
It would be the icing on the cake for GT5 to use it too. I really hope PD are aware of this technique.
If it is slim and has no power brick then I am going to replace my aged 360 with one.
Talking of rebranding, when the PS2 slim came out in Japan, I grabbed one and GT4. Just found it while cleaning out the room and (in a moment of madness as it was still like new) took it to bits, threw away the drive and plastic and used the motherboard as a picture-like decoration for my console area. Looks good but I feel guilty now :(
Although not strictly leading on PS3, A couple of devs have spoken out about the benefits of coding from the PS3's very much required parallel perspective for performance on the platform and how it made them look at further optimizations in their 360 code that otherwise would have gone missed.
Burnout Paradise was an early example of this being mentioned (and that was lead) and more recently, Blur.
..A quote from the recent Blur interview on Digital Found...
Talented and intelligent dev team. A must read.
..and got gold in each one :)
I cannot wait! My fav game almost ever. I wonder if you can add or take away layers this time?
Recently, I was lucky enough to get to see and demo some 3D stuff on the PS3. I was shown the 30 sec 'Behind the bullet' demo they released before. They also had Superstardust HD, LBP, Motorstorm Pacific rift (which I played) and GT-3D. Some were just 3d videoclips and some were demos.
They guy said that the firmware update was unofficially dated for June but later news releases on this site have suggested July.
^ that.
Sucks to be Jim Layhe, whatever his name is. I hope he finds a hobby or job that at least entertains him somewhat before he commits suicide or something terrible like that.
Looks great, can't wait.
I really hope that this new AA trick on the SPU idea that appears on GOW3 and Saboteur makes it's way into Polyphony's hands. If only there were a way to communicate this with them.... CAPS?
Eurogamer's flavour is all too powerful on the tongue here. No diplomacy, just opinion.
SOLD! (and bubbles for you both)
