@Sitdown you are absolutely correct that the sample size is currently to small, but in business it is better to be proactive than reactive. I have both consoles and admittedly skipped purchasing a second controller for my Series X because I believe they may end up developing a haptic controller to compete with Sony's.
To provide a little context, when Sony demonstrated the six axis for the PS3 and the touch pad for the PS4 I couldn't care less about the features an...
@surferz maybe you are young, but Gears and Halo 3 were game changers in 2006 and 2007 respectively. Gears was a brand new IP and Halo was still very young and huge on the multiplayer scene. If Microsoft went back to making new revolutionary IPs like they did during the OG Xbox and early 360 years they could be serious competition. Admittedly Microsoft has gotten away from what they did well during that time, but OG Xbox and early years of the 360 was great for gamers. I can't say that no...
Lol! Best post I have seen in a while!
I miss the days when systems had a cache. Played right off of the disc.
And current gen games give you far more hours of enjoyment when compared to PS1 games. $70 for as many hours of entertainment most current gen games provide is actually a good value for in 2020. However, the combination of a full priced game and micro-transactions in some games is sickening and another issue altogether.
I think Godfall is probably getting more play in the near term because it it is not cross-gen and early adopters are looking for a next-gen game on their system. Moreover, early adopters are looking for new experiences and already know pretty much what can be expected from a cross-gen AC/Ubisoft game. Since Godfall is seemingly pretty mediocre, I expect it will putter out before AC as more casuals begin to purchase the new console.
If it becomes a GaaS title it will be a mistake. Otherwise I am excited to see a new vision for the series.
I installed SM:MM from a disc to my PS5. It defaulted to the PS5 version initially but each time I restart the console it switches to the PS4 version and I have to actively change it.
Having both consoles, the PS5 would benefit from both smart delivery and quick resume. I downloaded several games for my PS5 and initially it defaulted to the PS5 version. However, every time I reset the console the games default to the PS4 version and I have to actively go in an change it to the PS5 version. On Series X I don't even have to think about what version of the game I am playing because it simply always defaults to the best version.
Keep in mind, I am more ...
Agreed @Nexus. If developers continue to utilize the Dualsense then Microsoft will need to develop a similar haptic feedback controller. If differences are nominal between two versions of games, I will elect for the version that utilizes the Dualsense every time.
Having both consoles, the Series X feels more functionally impressive while the PS5 just feels more fun.
Update: installed Spider-Man, Spider-Man MM, Demon’s Souls, and Bugsnax. All defaulted to the PS5 version for me.
The thing that jumps out the most is just how snappy everything feels. It adds more to the experience then I thought it would. Well said @danny818
My console is being delivered today so I will be a able to join the group of proud beta testers soon.
Yeah me too. Looks like my PS5 may end up being my 3rd party and exclusive machine. I expected the PS5 to be my exclusive only machine. Oh well, at least it is still the best place to play old games...I guess. I didn't buy an Xbox last gen so there is a lot for me to enjoy in the back catalogue.
Because he is low res texture and non-emotive while he is getting smashed by Master Chief. He is taking a fatal beating and by his face it seems he couldn’t care less. Craig even groans in that clip but his face never moves.
The SSD is a much bigger quality of life improvement than what I thought it would be. It really makes gaming so much better when you are not weighing moving between menus and games based on how long it might take. Everything feels so snappy that it is worth the price of admission for both consoles imo.
Considering this is your flagship game that was supposed to release with your new console and still has no release date, I am not sure it makes much sense to embrace this. Not sure this approach helps with accountability, but 343 and Microsoft are free to create whatever culture within their company that they like.
But...But...people will give me attention.
@Lore Agreed. I would at least given it best audio. The sound track was amazing!
