This^. The issue is not so much graphics and performance as it is more about what gen 9 can bring with new game designs that were previously unattainable in past generations. The icing on the cake is that it will bring enhanced graphics and performance on top of new game design, better A.I., etc.
I expect by 2022 there will be many more PS5s in the consumers hands. Especially for those whom really want one. The messaging by Sony to the consumer at the beginning of this gen has been poor at best. Especially when they tried to bury Microsoft with the "we believe in generations" comment.
I cannot give Sony a pass here. Microsoft was at least honest at the beginning and stated that they would continue with cross-gen games until 2022. This was widely criticized by gamers and Sony took this as an opportunity to pile on the competition by saying "we believe in generations."
I personally attacked Microsoft in this forum when I saw the Halo Infinite Demo and said something to the affect of "this is what happens when you do not believe in generation...
I couldn’t care less about the delay as would rather them take the time necessary to make the game the best it can be. However, I am beginning to wonder why I bothered to invest in gen 9 hardware if I am going to be stuck in gen 8 for the foreseeable future.
I have never played RDR2 and have recently thought about picking it up. I recently platinumed Spider-Man Remastered and Ghost of Tsushima, and while I obviously really enjoyed them, I still found Witcher 3 to be superior by a significant margin. Mostly because it feels almost every choice in the game even during side quest (less the smugglers caches in Skellige - Ugh!) is important and means something. Since I am on the fence with RDR2, I would really like to hear from more people on how it c...
And you trust Microsoft to deliver? Halo Infinite has been in development hell for 6 years and benefited from at least a $500 million budget at the time of they showed perhaps one of the most disappointing demos in history. This from a Series X owner who hopes they will deliver, but I do not trust they will until they actually do. The continued message of "its coming" is not working for me anymore.
“Xbox GamePass has not only become a prolific statement within the gaming industry, its player base and fans of opposing hardware are now crying for other platforms to adapt its on-demand like structure...”
No, no they are not.
Nobody should be advocating paying for multiple subscription services across multiple platforms.
This is very true for RE8, but then you see it in a game like Spider Man Remastered or Spider Man MM and it makes a tremendous difference.
“Surely it is a bad deal even on finance if you are getting no use out of it.”
I agree with this which is why I noted that maybe the OP regrets the purchase. I should probably let the OP speak for themselves at this point.
0% financing for two years and a slight discount on Gamepass is why. Not a bad idea to use someone else's money at 0% to purchase your console for two years. Does Harryvok regret it at this point. Maybe, only they know, but on the surface All Access seems like a pretty good deal.
He can’t cancel. He noted he is locked into the All Access finance plan.
@chief Are you a child? Serious question
Lol! I don’t use quick resume because I have the same issue. Some sort of OCD thing where I just need everything closed and complete. I even struggle to leave my systems in rest mode for more than a few hours. If not for the OCD I would probably enjoy quick resume, but it just isn’t happening for me. It is a personal problem for sure.
It’s coming guys. Just wait /s
Arcade etiquette. What a great memory. I remember putting my “got next” $0.50 on the edges of the screen for games like of SF2, MK, and KI.
Been waiting to pick up a 2nd controller in hopes of a black model. Very happy to see this!
I feel very similar. I have an X and the console functions very well, but the only way I was able to justify the purchase is because I skipped the X-One generation. In fact, a friend of mine who has a One-X asked if I recommend the Series X and I felt the need to advise him to wait and see what is going to come out with in the future.
I have both the X and the PS5 and honestly the X feels like the the better, quieter, less buggy and more functional machine, but even skipp...
You are going to be waiting a long time.
It is also to my understanding that this will be cross-gen gameplay, but I could be wrong. That is what we were told initially along with the "not believing in generations" spiel.
While I agree that Microsoft was heavily criticized by announcing they would support cross gen through 2022. I do not see the majority giving Sony a pass on this issue. This is a bad look for them after they took a shot a Microsoft with the "believing in generations comment." A comment I fully marked out to and loved at the time, but now the quote (which I parroted on Sony's behalf) just makes me feel foolish.
