Agreed. Take away the community and there is no reason to come here. To many other competing outlets for gaming info.
That said, I was a lurker since 2007 and finally joined years later. I learned a lot things I never would have known concerning tech, gaming, and other things from members here. I am going to miss it for sure.
I wish everyone the best and hope you continue what brought us together in the first place…GAMING!
Back to the OG green. A small step in the right direction. Doesn’t earn my trust back but a positive step nonetheless.
Pre-ordered mine a few days ago. Love this concept and hope there are more games announced. I can’t justify paying the prices for games that collectors are asking for. It’s the primary reason I own almost every console except the Neo Geo.
I had the same exact thought the first time this was brought up in a separate article about a week ago. Took me straight back to the conversations surrounding “horse armor.” Just don’t buy it they said. Years later, many IPs I previously enjoyed are so infected with monetization schemes that I don’t even consider purchasing them anymore.
DLSS 5 and the like are the same thing wrapped in a different package. History rhymes but many of us never learn from it.
Put me in the category of enjoying a good story in an RPG.
I think in most cases the character models look better. Conversely, in most cases the lighting looks worse. It is brighter and cleaner but looks less natural.
That said, the broader issue I have with this tech is that it will likely eventually be used to replace most artist jobs in the industry. The C-Suite thought process being, why pay people to create when AI can artificially generate an image. The gaming industry has been shedding jobs dramatically over the last few ye...
Agreed. Also, I think more transparency from devs to the gamers on what the enhancements actually are on a per game basis would be incredibly helpful. Much more helpful than just smacking a Pro enhanced label on the game itself.
That said, I am really looking forward to PSSR 2.0. I hope many devs will retroactively patch games running PSSR 1.0 where it is possible.
While I am sure she played a key role in “everything is an Xbox” it is still a hit piece. We can’t forget that Phil was in charge and at the very least gave it his blessing.
Same. I figured they may have created some useful assets while working on the scrapped GaaS game that could have been transferred for use in the trilogy remake. Such a shame, Bluepoint did a phenomenal job with the Demon Souls remake. A transition to the GoW remake seemed like a perfect match for their talent.
I purchased the X and PS5 at launch and it turns out the X is the worst console purchase I ever made. Especially now that I have a Pro because now that Xbox releases games for PS5, I am most certainly going to buy them to play on my Pro for the best console experience. My X has been collecting dust for a very long time. Unfortunately.
Works well with my refrigerator…I mean Xbox.
Thanks for the update and happy new year Chris! Have followed this site about 2007 and prefer to continue to get my news here. However, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t looking for a replacement in the event of a further decline in up to date news and engagement. Again, I prefer to be here and continually check in.
Like you, I hope the owners get the issues under control quickly and user engagement increases significantly.
Perhaps, and I hope you’re right. A shift is needed IMO
Agree that all you just posted are great games. Expedition 33 is one of my favorites. Spent a large chunk of time on BG3 in 2023. Another for my all-time list.
My point though not well articulated in the OG post is that we would get more of the games of the quality you mentioned if so many valuable resources were not allocated to FTP slop and/or heavy monetization schemes. Some of what used to be my favorite franchises have been ruined by them.
To sum it ...
This is why we can’t have nice things.
This site used to be really good. Now it crashes all the time and is full of trolls, spam bots, etc. N4G may not be dead, but feels like it’s dying.
The Xbox division has not listened to the customer since the 360 days. Ever since Kinect, Microsoft has been about selling us what they want and trying to tell us it’s what we want rather than actually selling us what we are asking for.
@rlow 1 You are correct and it is maddening. Living in the US, our government hasn’t cared to protect us through anti-trusts laws for decades. To many special interest groups/lobbyists working on behalf of the big corps lining our representatives pockets to get what they want. And unfortunately, it works.
Yeah, the message is clear. The guy is clearly waiting for a new very popular game to be restocked. It was a common occurrence back then for new highly anticipated games to be out of stock at release. The ad is saying that you can play new popular games instantly and without being inconvenienced.
I don’t have GamePass and do not purchase digital games. I prefer physical and don’t like subscription game services. That said, the commercial didn’t convince me to subscribe to G...
Was 360 biased for most of the ps3/360 gen then eventually flopped.
