While I am sure she played a key role in “everything is an Xbox” it is still a hit piece. We can’t forget that Phil was in charge and at the very least gave it his blessing.
Same. I figured they may have created some useful assets while working on the scrapped GaaS game that could have been transferred for use in the trilogy remake. Such a shame, Bluepoint did a phenomenal job with the Demon Souls remake. A transition to the GoW remake seemed like a perfect match for their talent.
I purchased the X and PS5 at launch and it turns out the X is the worst console purchase I ever made. Especially now that I have a Pro because now that Xbox releases games for PS5, I am most certainly going to buy them to play on my Pro for the best console experience. My X has been collecting dust for a very long time. Unfortunately.
Works well with my refrigerator…I mean Xbox.
Thanks for the update and happy new year Chris! Have followed this site about 2007 and prefer to continue to get my news here. However, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t looking for a replacement in the event of a further decline in up to date news and engagement. Again, I prefer to be here and continually check in.
Like you, I hope the owners get the issues under control quickly and user engagement increases significantly.
Perhaps, and I hope you’re right. A shift is needed IMO
Agree that all you just posted are great games. Expedition 33 is one of my favorites. Spent a large chunk of time on BG3 in 2023. Another for my all-time list.
My point though not well articulated in the OG post is that we would get more of the games of the quality you mentioned if so many valuable resources were not allocated to FTP slop and/or heavy monetization schemes. Some of what used to be my favorite franchises have been ruined by them.
To sum it ...
This is why we can’t have nice things.
This site used to be really good. Now it crashes all the time and is full of trolls, spam bots, etc. N4G may not be dead, but feels like it’s dying.
The Xbox division has not listened to the customer since the 360 days. Ever since Kinect, Microsoft has been about selling us what they want and trying to tell us it’s what we want rather than actually selling us what we are asking for.
@rlow 1 You are correct and it is maddening. Living in the US, our government hasn’t cared to protect us through anti-trusts laws for decades. To many special interest groups/lobbyists working on behalf of the big corps lining our representatives pockets to get what they want. And unfortunately, it works.
Yeah, the message is clear. The guy is clearly waiting for a new very popular game to be restocked. It was a common occurrence back then for new highly anticipated games to be out of stock at release. The ad is saying that you can play new popular games instantly and without being inconvenienced.
I don’t have GamePass and do not purchase digital games. I prefer physical and don’t like subscription game services. That said, the commercial didn’t convince me to subscribe to G...
The implosion almost feels purposeful at this point. Getting a feeling Microsoft’s Board of Directors is done with the “just wait” narrative after the company made a massive investment by purchasing huge developers.
Feels like they want to see a return on investment now and if they don’t get one soon, they are prepared to let the Xbox brand burn. Their patience has clearly run thin.
How much did the Xbox division profit over the last 4 quarters? Please enlighten me because I don’t see Microsoft disclosing anything other than revenue.
If Sony goes with a lowered powered sku like Microsoft did with the Series S, the PS6 may be the first PlayStation console I do not buy at launch. I have enjoyed every iteration of the PlayStation since the PSX including both Pro models. However, if they force parity with a lower powered SKU and/or a dock-able hand held. I will take a wait and see approach. If this happens, I could shift to PC even though I really prefer a plug and play console.
As for Yotei, I am sure I w...
@IAN your post was well articulated and worth the read. We know that attention spans are decreasing in the digital age and there is no need to argue with those who are criticizing you for providing a well-written opinion because it was “a novel.”
Express yourself how you see fit. Good post.
Per video:
PS5 Pro - has best performance (stable 60fps), resolution, and maintains most visual effects utilized in quality mode even in performance mode. Also can switch between TSR and PSSR upscaling tech. Both upscalers require a lower base resolution to reach an upscaled 4K presentation on the Pro.
Series X - has 2nd best resolution and worst performance, but dips from 60fps are minor and are in the VRR range. Some visual effect reduction in perform...
I have an 83 inch LG G2 OLED 120 Hz panel. I am thankful for it and love it! The picture is amazing, but the choppiness in motion at 30fps makes me a little sick feeling.
My wife can’t play at 30fps at all on that panel 🤮. 30fps didn’t used to bother me, but I am so glad most everything runs at least 60fps now.
The “World’s Most Powerful Console” in 2020 should be able to outperform the base PS5.
One reason I purchased an SX is because I thought it would run 3rd party better than my PS5 and it consistently failed to do so.
The SX is the worst console purchase I ever made. Especially now that I have a Pro and all Xbox games run better on it anyway. Even games that used to be Xbox console exclusive.
Agreed. Also, I think more transparency from devs to the gamers on what the enhancements actually are on a per game basis would be incredibly helpful. Much more helpful than just smacking a Pro enhanced label on the game itself.
That said, I am really looking forward to PSSR 2.0. I hope many devs will retroactively patch games running PSSR 1.0 where it is possible.
