I’m thinking this could very well be true. The lesser ram provided by the Series S is nothing to sneeze at. The S has the potential to be a real albatross to the X.

I knew the power of the cloud talk was complete BS in 2013 and never bought into it. However, the advantage of the Series X CPU architecture and meatier GPU are much more tangible. Just as the PS5s much faster SSD is likewise tangible. While I usually agree with you on many subjects, this is not a power of the cloud situation. Xbox should have advantages against the PS5 that they clearly did not possess when the base consoles launched last generation.

It it was the same than there would be no need for a differentiating word like dynamic in the first place.

For me: Witcher 3, GoW, FF7 Remake.

Not really sure. Adds to the confusion doesn’t it?

You must have read the misleading title only. Dynamic 4K on the PS5 and native 4K on the Series X.

Uncanny valley is the best descriptor I have seen for my view on this issue. Sex in a game just feels off and a bit strange. It does not seem to elevate gaming in any way and just feels awkward to participate in.

Most misleading title I have seen on N4G since the “AC Valhalla runs at 4K/60fps on both the PS5 and Series X” article.

Actually this title is significantly worse.

Playstation followed by the #2 is a much stronger differentiator compared to the letter U or X for that matter because it implies sequential order.

This is what happens when you don’t believe in generations.

@Nexus-6 Yes.

I wouldn’t draw that conclusion from this article. Especially when both versions are running at 60fps and one is running dynamic 4K in order to prioritize 60fps. In the end you may be correct, but this article provides evidence to the contrary of what you are concluding.

Just because DF praises dynamic 4K it does not mean that native 4K and dynamic/upscaled 4K are the same thing. If they are the same thing then there is would be no need for a differentiating word like "dynamic" in the first place.

How does a post like the one @Smclaren1985 made get down voted? This is what a gamers post should be. Nothing fanboy here. Just a post providing logical reasons about choices made in order to get the best gaming experience.

This is my plan. I have both on pre-order. I expect the PS5 will be my primary gaming device because their 1st party games come frequently and are fantastic, but I will use the Series X for 3rd party. I didn't have an Xbox last gen because when comparing the base consoles, the PS4 was the best place to play both 1st and 3rd party games.

Nailed it. I can't overstate how many "next gen should be native 4K/60 by default" posts I read 6 months ago. Humans are incredibly good at adapting to things when it conforms to our bias.

Potato you are wasting your time by falling into a trolls trap. Obscure trolls for fun because trolling results in comments like the one you just presented. Don't feed the troll.

Title is misleading. It implies that both versions run the same when in actuality one features upscaled 4K to run at 60fps and the other is native 4k at 60fps.

I agree that neither are great to look at, but I do like that they both appear weighty and substantial. It looks as though I am purchasing something of quality. I remember pulling my base PS4 out of the box on launch day. I really liked the design but it was light and the plastic felt cheap.

The PS5 and Series X remind me of the PS3 in one regard. The original design was not overly popular from an at aesthetic standpoint. However, when I pulled it out of the box it felt po...

This comes as no surprise as the only case that Microsoft has made for purchasing their next gen console is that it will run previous generation games better. The is a tough sell at $500 imo.
