OLED is mature tech now and burn in is rarely an issue. OLED is a great gaming display.
What design flaws in particular are you referring too. Genuinely curious.
Honest question not necessarily directed you, but does anyone even really care about 8K? I have sincerely wondered this because I have not seen the same enthusiasm around the tech when compared to 1080p or 4K. I personally don’t have any desire to jump into 8K because I can barely make out the difference between 4K and 8K.
Also, there is no need for a pro model yet, but even without 8K gaming I think it would be marketable several years from now. It will be for console game...
I didn’t like the idea of a pro console at first, but once I upgraded to an OLED and got a Pro version it was hard for me to want to go back to the base version. There was a significant difference between the consoles and I really enjoyed the extra horsepower. Nevertheless, if you are not a fan, I wouldn’t worry about Pro versions anytime soon. The most obvious reason is the semiconductor shortage and the other being that Sony wouldn’t be able to construct one at this moment at a price even r...
The way I read it is that ultimately the consumer is winning because all platforms are healthy, and have to continue to provide great games to maintain their health. Title is a bit clickbaity/misleading though.
Fetching cats for a little girl was the pinnacle of FF7 Remake. JK
…Even Cloud was annoyed by it. Lol
Also even if the image quality help up the performance would have likely been sub-30 FPS with significant dips on gen 7 consoles. Nevertheless, the game still looked like it had the potential to be a very fun super hero game. Especially in 2008.
Gen 7 was a much bigger leap from gen 6 than gen 8 was from gen 7 imo. Unfinished game from 13 years ago and still holds up really well.
I have been playing R&C on 4K 30fps mode also. I do notice the difference after playing several other games at 60fps immediately before, but I am old also, and I think some of us old folks become graphics whores because we grew up with games having such crappy graphics for a long time.
Back in those days there was never any talk of performance. I didn’t even know what performance was. All I knew were graphics and the number of bits. I can actually remember needing to us...
I have an LG B6 and a C8 so I missed 120hz by 1 year. Also, even if I upgraded my OLED I would need to upgrade my Denon audio/video receiver that I paid $600 for when I upgraded to Atmos in 2018 because it will only pass thru 60hz to my TV. As such, I won’t be getting that smooth experience anytime soon. Grrrrrrrrrr!
The best post on N4G usually have about a 50% ratio of agrees to disagrees.
Yep. I picked up the memory expansion and a 4TB external HDD. I will be just fine.
“Straight Cash Homie”
I see what you did. Lol
This has been my approach since I received the both consoles at launch. I experienced the DualSense and decided to take the wait and see approach on more controllers with my SX as well. I have hoped from that Microsoft would emulate the DualSense from the start and also hope they won’t let me down. Day one pre-order if they design and sell a new haptics controller.
@vegeta - Except it is not like China at all. Using identification so that people may be a little more thoughtful before posting is very different from suppressing speech and sending people to re-education camps when they don't think the way the government thinks they should. My views don't align in any way with communist China or communism in general.
@Tacoboto - I think you are absolutely correct on the first point, and I actually thought about Facebook when writi...
This probably won't be popular, but I would support use of identification for social media platforms. People who make death threats should not be able to hide under the veil of a fake name. Also, I think there is a lot of people on major platforms who just say things to troll and get a response even if negative. I wonder how many would have made the comments they did towards the UK team if they were not able to hide. Not to mention foreign governments who use social media platforms to sow...
“Lots of kids struggle with games.”
Spare me. I was 6 years of age when I first played Mike Tyson’s Punch Out. I spent about a year moving up and down the Minor, Major, and World circuit before finally facing Mike Tyson.
I remember my parents huddling in my bedroom with real excitement to see the dream match between myself (Little Mac) and The Dynamite Kid himself. It was a big deal and they understood the determination it took for me to get there as neit...
I have both consoles. The PS5 occupies the vast majority of my time because of the truly next games, and I cannot say enough good things about the Dualsense. The controller is fantastic. However, if I am looking at the two machines as just machines and not taking into account software or add-ons. The Series X is a quiet more functional machine that just works better. The PS5 crashes from time to time, and often times the disc drive sounds as though it is eating my disc. I don't even hear ...
@tombfan - The 2nd play through is more fun for me as well because I am not worrying about touching all areas of the map for the collectables I got in my first run. I know other people enjoy hunting these down, but for me as an OCD completionist it takes away from the game when I am spending so much time hunting collectables instead of enjoying the fantastic gameplay and story. I know that I have the choice to not hunt them and It is a personal problem for sure, but not hunting the 2nd time a...
Can I preorder my loot boxes now? /S
