It's Kotaku. Besides, wasn't this the same knee-jerk reaction that the "Wii you like to play?" ad campaign received. I really don't see what everyone is freaking out about.
EDIT: Everyone being Kotaku and some of these commenters.
OMG CONFLICTING OPINIONS OFFEND ME.
With more software, Nintendo CAN make a turnaround with the Wii U. Considering its motions are similar to the 3DS, I see no reason why it can't find a similar audience.
I'm totally satisfied with the 3DS lineup presently. In fact I feel there's a little too much. I want Project X Zone, Ace Attorney 5 (still waiting on that damn collection game, too), Animal Crossing, Mario Golf, Mario Party (assuming it's online), Dream Team, and probably the new Pokemon game.
Personally I want to see Nintendo generate some excitement for Wii U and finally invigorate some relevance for this thing in the public eye. Show those games that were anno...
It depends on how you look at it, I think. For example, I don't think Mario Party 9 was anything like Mario Party 5 which wasn't anything like Mario Party 2 (outside of the usual board game set up). Furthermore, I don't think Galaxy, Sunshine or 64 are all that similar. Their settings, level design and even jump mechanics are all pretty different.
At that point you have to look at franchises like Ratchet & Clank which have seen quite a few releases since it fi...
The two are not mutually exclusive at all, there is no direct correlation between quality and exclusivity. There is quite a few fantastic multiplatform games as well. LA Noire, Brutal Legend, Darksiders and Mortal Kombat to name a few.
That's not to say exclusives are bad, but to suggest that multiplatform games are somehow hampered by being developed for more than a single console is silly. ZombiU is exclusive and while I do enjoy the game, the amount of bugs it had upon...
Fair answer, but they asked how it affects your view of a game, not a console.
For once we agree. No excuse at all.
Huh, cute. Reminds me of that one anime that had a cameo of James Rolfe and Doug Walker.
Whether it happens or not, that's pretty freaking awesome.
Considering that they unveiled X during a western Nintendo Direct, I think it's pretty much confirmed for the region.
Which 3DS announcements are you looking forward to exactly? I can't help but feel as if the E3 show they are planning will be pretty focused on Wii U since they have a ton of 3DS games coming out around summer time as well as several Directs this year talking about them.
There's some weird insistence that the Vita is somehow going to destroy the market because of its cross-compatibility. I've made the same point that such a feature does not move anyone with a PS3, so I don't see how it will entice anyone to spend the money to a Vita after they've purchased a PS4.
EDIT: Like the 3DS is proving, the Vita needs to be competitive with software, not by mingling with more hardware. If you're asking someone to spend $250 on hardw...
Usually not a lot. If a game looks good then it really does not matter what console it's on. There are exceptions though; I think Rayman Legends was a big one for many a Nintendo fan.
I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Pacman and a Tales of character in there is well. If Namco is developing it I wouldn't be surprised if they threw in a small handful of their own characters in it. Symphonia was a huge hit on the Gamecube. It would not surprise me at all to see Lloyd in the game and/or Pacman.
Frankly (and with all due respect) I don't think there's a way to definitively conclude that at all. It seems more like a conspiracy theory and, in my opinion, a cheap way to turn positive news into bad news. First it's "Nintendo doesn't care so they won't bring over Earthbound." Now it's "Nintendo's pandering because they're bringing it to the newest console."
Like I said, the Wii VC isn't being supported and the 3DS VC...
I'm pretty sure not all of those were "developed" by Capcom.
Personally I would have preferred a more sackboy-esque style (which it kind of has when Yoshi becomes 3D yarn). This is an occasion where I can agree it's a bit disappointing to see a Yoshi game with a style that resembles an earlier Kirby game.
That said, with how so many games use dark grey or brown color palettes, I'd say that this instance is a minor offense at best.
Sure it adds up. I've been on Miiverse and the amount of people who were asking for Earthbound in some of the other VC related Miiverse sections was staggering.
The thing is a group of fans online doesn't make much of an impact. The reason Xenoblade became such a prime issue was because outlets like Destructoid and other big media names were suddenly bringing the issue to the forefront of discussion. Even with Project Rainfall, the likes of both Nintendo and XSEED bot...
Money grubbing punks without a clue?
What do you mean by BS exactly? All the ads do is show families having fun and expressing excitement over the console. I really don't see what is "BS" about that considering that people have been going nuts practically shouting at Nintendo to market the Wii U more effectively. Not to say that this is all that effective in my opinion, but I can't even remotely imagine how this is as bad as Kotaku, of all sources, is saying it is or why people seem to agree with it.
