Yeah he was. He's been helping with the franchise since day one, but I'm not sure if he handled any of them with as much control as he had on Other M. Team Ninja was basically following his direction.
Perhaps I jumped the gun. I think he can help supervise games (like he did in the Prime trilogy) but I hope he has absolutely no more say in the plots for the games.
To be fair, Team Ninja was just following Sakamoto's direction on Other M. He wrote, produced AND directed that game.
As long he stays the fuck out of Metroid development for a while, I'm happy.
Notice all of the disagrees on comments correcting the reason for the annual loss. Apparently people want to believe it's Nintendo's fault and not the Yen and economy.
I mean yeah, they've been selling the 3DS at a loss (keep in mind, a fairly small loss compared to say the PS3 at launch), but a recent report suggested that this won't be the case anymore by the end of Summer this year. Plus they have been making a ton of money off of the Wii and DS up until th...
Um. No.
I like my 3DS. I have games on it that I like to play. I'll keep it, thanks.
For starters people on these threads tend to be completely ignorant of these facts. Joystiq and Kotaku's communities have the same type of people.
It's amazing what a simple Google search will give you, yet no one seems to think to do it.
"doesnt nitnendo have anything original to do."
Wii remote. Look at that!
Sony unveils the Move.
Hmm... also, I wouldn't say making a fighting game that looks a lot like Smash Bros. for PS3 is anything "original." It might be fun to play, but don't kid yourself into thinking it's not a Smash clone.
Actually it has more to do with the economy. Something to do with yen exchange if I'm not mistaken. Besides, yes the 3DS is being sold at a loss currently, but the hit isn't massive. It only costs about $100 - $150 to manufacture one of them. The rest is the packaging and shipping.
Yikes, that $999 price tag is scary shit. Oh well, maybe next year.
Good thing there's a cheap alternative then, eh?
Some of the big tech-heads out there have their heads wedged pretty far up Apple's bunghole. The idea of Apple monopolizing the gaming market is horrifying to me.
I like my Zelda on my 3DS just as I like my Gears of War on my Xbox. If they had to be played on an iPad or some similar device, I'd probably find myself a new hobby.
^This. Big time.
It supports external drives, so you could get pretty much any size you want and use that. It adds to the price, sure, but it's better than paying an extra $50 - $100 for a drive that Nintendo put into the platform.
Occasionally they try something new. But even those games usually don't get the notoriety they deserve.
Nintendo's Pikmin, Microsoft/Twisted Pixel's Splosion Man and Sony's Journey to name a few. All well received new games that otherwise did not sell mega millions despite the positive screening given to them by the press.
"no more tired sequels bring out some fresh new experiences"
They're not going to bother unless those ideas get support and it seems many average gamers are pretty much satisfied with the status quo. Look at how MW3 and BF3 sold. Now compare that to Journey or No More Heroes.
I love that this article demanded new IPs only to say they also wanted like five sequels to be announced right after.
Sadly it won't stop stupidity and ignorance. If there's one thing N4G has taught me, it's that there are a lot of trolls and a lot of people who are hateful toward just about anything that isn't their respective console.
Hmm. Someone disagreed with me for stating a fact.

@MurDocINC
We'll see in the coming years, though I don't believe the power gap will be that large. Stronger consoles means higher costs and unless either Microsoft or Sony want to repeat the problems issued by the PS3, they won't go mega-powerful in the upcoming generation.
I take it you're tracking my comments just to disagree with them at this point?
Why be a console gamer in the first place if you have no internet connection? Most of the biggest games are driven by their online multiplayer components.
Besides, the first Xbox 360 was released without a hard drive and it didn't even support any HDDs other than its own (lest you hacked it). That system did fine.
Finally, why would you want a built-in HDD...
To each their own. I can never understand buying the same game twice over though.
To each their own, but you're pretty much the only person I've met so far who said they outright hated the soundtrack and characters/storyline.
I thought the music was pretty good and I loved the characters. I look forward to hearing them speak in KH3D.
