I'm sure if the big publishers could, they'd release a new console the moment they had come into possession of new and interesting technology.
The problem is that costs money. and the theory of planned obsolescence is quite effective for them from a business standpoint. You buy a machine that is sure to grow old and outdated at one point or another, then you release a newer, better one that does what the last one cannot.
It's cool that consoles ha...

Aside from cross-compatibility, what new features did these ports on the Vita have? Besides, most of said ports were already on the PS3. Nintendo enthusiasts have yet to get most of these games. And they'll have new features and control methods with the respective developers of some of them claiming that the Wii U version is the best one. In my comment above, I stated I had yet to play Batman and Ninja Gaiden. The Wii U is an excellent opportunity for me to get into these games since I do...
@bothebo
Wrong. The Vita is expensive at $250 - $300 plus whatever fortune you wind up spending on the memory card.
The 3DS is better than it was before, and the price drop is not the ultimate reason for it. It has a lot of new games for it, both physical and downloadable. The issue for the 3DS and Vita at launch was not enough unique games. Yeah the vita had more at launch, but many of those were already available on another platform already (Gravity Rush is...
So how is it that this gets reported for duplication but none of the more negative duplicate articles get such reports?
"Ports are never better than the 'original' "
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition had all of the extra content, widescreen support and all available control schemes. The HD versions are better as well. So you're completely wrong in that regard.
"The tablet controller won't really do much."
You haven't played a single game with it so that's an extremely ignorant statement to make. Also the tablet controller...
Err, something needs to be corrected with this article. Didn't Namco say that Tekken Wii U would be held back to 2013? Unless of course if I'm mistaken.
Anyway, of the games in this list, I'm interested in playing Assassin's Creed III, Ninja Gaiden III, Batman, Aliens and whatever first party games come out.
Reason is I've yet to play any of the games that are already on 360/PS3 and I figure that the Wii U ones will more than likely be the...
Just because a person accepts that the Wii was underpowered compared to its competition doesn't necessarily warrant any name-calling from you.
If you cannot acknowledge that the Wii does actually have some good, if not great games, then it's your issue, not the issue of Wii owners or Nintendo.
I disagree. I feel this will be more like the Super Nintendo and the Sega 32X addon (though I assume with less shitty games).
It's hardly confirmed that the Wii U truly is that underpowered. It probably will not hold up completely to its competition, but Nintendo probably will not use out of date hardware like people like to assume is fact.
Also, Nintendo intends to market this to a core audience while making it affordable (whereas Wii was strictly for th...
If they were priced no higher than DVDs, then sure. I suppose if games ever go completely digital, that's one significant plus we'll see. Manufacturing costs would no longer be an issue and there could be more leeway on pricing.
Of course this is just a hope and a theory.
Not Sonic the Hedgehog 4. That's a plus for it already!
It's a weird thing for me. Waiting for new consoles always gives me a sense of excitement. Perhaps I'm too easily swayed by seeing new tech at conventions.
That said, it also means money that I have to spend, so I have to budget myself carefully.
Every now and again comes an N4G comment that reminds me that some gamers out there don't have rice for brains.
"I swear if someone writes the Wii U is made out of cotton candy some of the idiots that frequent this site will believe that also."
^This, this and more this.
I think more GOOD titles is more important than more mature titles.
Kinect has a mature title or two, but the thing is most Kinect games tend to suck. Seriously, how do you manage to fuck up a motion control Star Wars or Dragonball Z game?
Depends, to be honest. I love TF2, and I love having different ways to play games (my interest goes to gyro and stylus controls).
Now if Wii U had Steamplay and offered the free stuff that TF2 lends you, I'd be totally down for it. But I'd hate to have a "forever vanilla" port of the game.
Oh, and the game should at least look a little better than the 360/PS3 versions.
I can see based on the agrees and disagrees here that fanboys (or perhaps just folks with a nasty grudge against Nintendo or anyone who's into their games/consoles) have a thing against logic.
Apparently everyone on N4G. Anything positive about Nintendo goes virtually unnoticed.
I remember way back when all of my friends were getting hyped for the very first Assassin's Creed game. Yeah it looked pretty and was somewhat innovative, it only clocked in at 12 hours for $60.
Skyward Sword on the Wii is more than triple that play time. Go figure.
"Hears only one side of the story.
Believes it instantly at face value."
Yup, another more positive article that'll get next to no traffic.
