Developers notoriously have a hard time working with Nintendo hardware. Vigil may be one of those developers who just doesn't know how to use it to its full potential.
Love how you say "the writing's on the wall" based solely on one speculative quote when yabhero gave you several from bigger, more capable developers and publishers, two of which that are big on modern graphics.
*Sigh* Yet another positive rumor that will go completely unnoticed.
You speak as if this will any better with a traditional controller (which the Wii U has).
You're probably talking about the quote from Epic saying that the consoles that will run UE4 have not been announced yet. That's not confirmation so much as it is odd wording of what platforms will or will not have it. Wait until official confirmation before making a statement like that.
I think it's funny how people criticized the Wii U for supposedly being unable to run UE4. Now that there's an article here saying otherwise, people are saying they don't care. Oh the irony.
I don't get mad; I just think it's dumb and unrealistic.
Nintendo's great software comes from its understanding of its own hardware. Nintendo does what Nintendo does best. To have them suddenly forced onto someone else's hardware model would be detrimental to their developmental process.
The idea of a Nintendo developed game on a Sony console is not impossible, but I think of it as ludicrous.
The context of the statement is too vague to determine what the truth is because it can mean two thins; 1. it means that no console that will be running UE4 has been announced or 2. the Epic has yet to announce what console will run UE4. You would have to ask Epic to clarify the statement before forming a conclusion.
It's also contradictory to previous statements and rumors suggesting that UE4 can/will be on Wii U.
Why bother speculating something that probably isn't even true? Some developers have said that it's on par, others have said it's pretty powerful (Gearbox for example said that it has a lot of RAM). One anonymous source on the day after April Fools said it was weaker, so I don't trust that statement for an instant.
With this in mind we can infer that that the console would be either on par or more powerful. I'm leaning toward the latter and here's why;...
You should plan out your purchases. The whole reason I bought a 3DS was because there were games I knew I wanted to play on it (mostly ones that had not yet been released), not necessarily because I knew it was a new Nintendo platform.
You have to look at a game console as an investment. If you are aware it will get strong support, even if you have to wait for it, then it's worth the buy. I adopted the 3DS early on because I knew I'd get Resident Evil and Star Fox. I ...
Nintendo always finds an audience, even if it's not a mega seller. The Nintendo 64 and Gamecube are proof of this.
Ironic, really. Nintendo does well when they cater to casual gamers (which leads to core gamer complaints). When they make a console that caters more toward core gamers, no one's interested.
I'm sure the argument is "core gamers don't like stupid controllers" but I say in response that 1. it's compatible with the Wii...
Or perhaps people just disagree with the opinion? Why is that so difficult to take in?
Now if he stated something factual, like "The Wii U does not use friend codes" and that got disagrees, then you'd be at liberty to question it.
I'll just go and be that guy who says "What about the Wii U?"
Ubisoft's notoriously multiplatform. If the Wii U has the power for it, I reckon this will appear on that one as well.
I love Mario (more than the gamers who actually think the franchise has gotten stale). But I love Pikmin as well and we haven't had a legitimate Pikmin followup since Pikmin 2 on the GCN. Pikmin is one of the reasons I loved owning a GCN. That was just such a fun and unique game. Nothing would please me more than to hear of Pikmin 3's announcement as a launch title for the console.
People often cited the 3D remakes as part of the 3DS' former software problem. I love Star Fox 3D and Zelda 3D, but whenever I see threads about them, it's mostly people complaining.
What I'd like to see is a collab. Test the waters to see what the potential result would be, you know?
@MEGATRON D
Good point. My mistake. In that case keep Sakamoto the hell away from anymore Nintendo software scripts.
There was no mention of Pikmin in this article...
Actually yeah that is a great resume given that all three Prime games, DKCR and Mario Kart 7 (which Retro helped develop) all were massive commercial and critical successes.
Or would you prefer Team Ninja take another crack at a Nintendo franchise? Because I'm sure fans would love to have Link bend down and cry at the sight of Ganondorf.
Because their 3D remakes on the 3DS were that well received? If people did not want to pick up a remastered version of Ocarina of Time with improved graphics, what makes anyone think that people will go for an updated version of Wind Waker or Twilight Princess in HD?
It's unfortunate since OoT 3D is actually quite good. People seem to have had enough with rereleases though.
As for old school titles, just let me import my Wii VC games. That's better th...
@TheLyonKing
There are exceptions. Some people don't live in a suitable exercise environment or they live too far away from (or don't want to spend the money on) equipment or local gyms.
Games like these are also a little more entertaining for kids who otherwise not as physically active as they could or should be. So they're not *that* bad. They just cannot nor should they be approached by a core gamer looking for the next Halo, Killzone or Zelda....
