Ubisoft had one of the better shows, I think. Which is weird given their track record...
That said, Microsoft's was crap, EA's was boring and Sony's was solid overall but nothing particularly surprising outside of Beyond: Two Souls.
I think this leaves Nintendo to steal the show. Whatever happens, I think today will be a good day to be a Nintendo fan.
Kotaku suggested that the last time Nikkei reported on something of Nintendo's (namely the 3DS release window), Nintendo denied it and it turned out to be true anyway. Time will tell on this one.
And by time I mean Nintendo's E3 conference in a little over 5 hours as of me typing this comment.
Could be worse, really. As long as they don't exceed the $60 number, I'm cool with it. Same goes for the other two.
^This. Nintendo pioneered the modern controller style.
Yes, the shape of this new one is starkly similar to the 360, but beyond that what is there that wasn't inherently Nintendo's to begin with?
One could argue triggers, but the Dreamcast had that before either of the Xbox consoles. Is there really even a problem with this overall? I seriously wonder.
May I direct your attention to this image that sums up this and anymore articles like it in the future.
Basic point: Shut up and play your games.
"Nintendo's way is more accessible."
Don't hear that one everyday here. That said, I totally agree with your comment. Not liking the idea behind SmartGlass at all.
To be fair, part of the joke during the conference was that the real host (who was actually kinda cool) kept trying to get rid of him. So I can forgive it.
There was no gameplay in the ZombiU trailer...
That strengthens my argument, more than anything. He said it makes Wii U irrelevant. If its primary function is just for editing load-outs and whatnot, then how does it make an entire game console irrelevant?
Move yes. Kinect FUCK no.
@BattleTorn
Well for starters I can find more than three good games on the Wii that aren't Dance-related. I'm sorry my opinion offends you.
Skyward Sword, No More Heroes and Xenoblade Chronicles to name a few.
Personally I'd prefer it if they continued the tradition of making the console able to play your handheld games. Super Gameboy on SNES, Gameboy player on GCN for some examples.
Seriously, Kid Icarus Uprising or Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D upscaled on my TV... 'nuff said.
Not really. I don't really think so anyway. I like my buttons. The SmartGlass has none. The Wii U does.
^This.
Anyone taking this as the actual price is being ridiculous.
This is based on a figure surrounding Yen. Exchange rates are off the wall at present. I reckon the actual price will be around the rumored $300 - $350 range.
Or maybe he's just enthusiastic. How is he trying to sell a game that's not even due for over half a year?
Honestly, you people will grasp at straws no matter what is said and done.
Didn't Capcom learn anything from Street Fighter X Tekken that timed exclusivity is just going to get them burned?
Worse yet is if this DLC winds up being available on the first day and on the disc.
Have you held this controller in your hand?
I think the Wii U Gamepad is a good device. I like having options on me at all times. That said I'm glad Nintendo decided to make this controller for those who are still iffy about the tablet controller (or even downright apprehensive of it).
Providing more options from the get-go is never bad and I think the other guys (particularly Microsoft) could learn something from that.
I am cool with this as long as Link stays mute. Kinda like what Naughty Dog did with Jak in Jak and Daxter.
Forgive me for being skeptical, but it looks fan made. Neither the Nintendo or Wii U logos were in it and something about the text they used put me off.
Of course I could be wrong. Who knows.
