I take it none of the above commenters have ever owned a 3DS?
If they improve the system then I see no problem. It's honestly no different than using a gamertag, especially since on the 3DS your code was replaced with your platform's username when you and your friend registered each other.
The context of the headline is there to get clicks and nothing more. If it were the same FC system as the Wii, then yes that would be very bad. But it isn't, es...
Well, that's just dandy. :/
I would have liked to see those games at E3, whatever they are.
How about you wait and see what it looks like? I honestly am alright with this since the 3DS friend code system was actually pretty intuitive. You provide your code and when you and your friend register each other, the codes are replaced by usernames.
Copy/pasting your friend code is no different than copy/pasting your Xbox LIVE gamertag. So I really don't see an issue here, especially if they intend to improve the system beyond the 3DS version.
Better prices? How the hell does the PS3's initial $600 price tag count as better than the Wii's $250 price tag?
As for your rehash statement, tell me how Skyward Sword is or plays anything like Ocarina of Time and while we're at it, tell me what about Mario Galaxy is like Mario 64 outside of jumping and the sound "Wahoo!"?
I could just as easily argue that Sony and Microsoft market their big name brands just as badly. Halo saw two games...
Since the hardware is finalized I think it's a tad late for that. I think they may actually have an easier time marketing to casual gamers with Nintendo Land.
However they need some heavy hitters for the core gamers this time around. I don't think they can dawdle around as much like they did in the early years of the Wii. We need more Nintendo 2009 and 2010 type E3 conferences. Sure, show us your casual games but give us those heavy core games as well.
I think that's a little unfair. If they're still having financial troubles, then the cuts are not going to game development, they're going to the company's bank to make sure they don't financially suffer further.
Besides, Satoru Iwata already took a 50% cut from his paycheck last year. I fail to see how it's good that the rest of Nintendo's employees losing their bonuses should be seen as a good thing.
Good to hear. I've yet to play this game. Might just wind up doing so on Wii U.
Obviously not given the overall reaction it received. I noticed game journalists reacted much more positively though and I think that has a lot to do with the fact that they had the opportunity to actually play these games on the show floor.
It's a shame because games like Nintendo Land MIGHT be really good, but the E3 conference has given it and the Wii U itself a bad impression to many core gamers.
To be fair, the show itself is not particularly bad. If I had a daughter, I'd have no issues watching it.
It's the internet fanbase (particularly the male portion of it) that I have issues with.
Forgive my math, but that looks like a list of 4 things.
Are you seriously complaining about a DVD player? Guaranteed you have at least three devices in your home that plays it already.
Wait a minute, you really expected EVERY Wii U game to use that feature? Including the ones where the TV and the controller screen do entirely different things?
Man, you have strange expectations...
WiiUS, eh? Clever name. Though I reckon people would be crying about that one too.
Anyway, yeah, you're right. If there's anything I've learned from this community, it's that trolls are prevalent and the rest are just delusional.
It's nice to see some positivity rising up after the heated outburst from fans toward Nintendo's conference. I still don't believe the conference was half as good as it should have been, but I don't believe that people should write off the Wii U or its launch lineup as a result of it.
I reckon since their conference was driven toward the casual crowd and less for the core, they figured it was not important.
Uhh, every time I heard anything about Wii U it was that it was high definition. It's a shame that these games won't be native 1080p, sure; but that's by no means an indicator that future games won't have it. Hence why I say not to exaggerate.
I always thought core Nintendo fans liked Mario.
Guess he thinks differently.
I wonder how many people will continue to complain about how heavy and bulky it looks without bothering to hold it in their hands themselves.
Funny how the good stuff comes after the actual conference. I'm watching the 3DS software showcase and so far it's a far, far better show than their E3 presentation.
Yeah, I don't think it's real either. The text in the screenshot looks really weird for simple dialogue.
Sure wish it was real though. I love Majora's Mask.
