Yeah I saw a comment on Kotaku that pointed it out, but there's that icon on the bottom right. Pretty neat for anyone who doesn't like Miiverse. Though I like the idea to be honest. Having both as an option is neat, I think.
I reckon people just want something closer to "Get N or get out."
This system wants to appeal to core gamers. We've heard core gamers complain here time and time again about the Wii U Gamepad. Why does giving those people the option they wanted for this console in the first place count as a negative? What's wrong with providing an option?
Assuming this has motion technology in it, it's practically no different from a PS3 controller (save for stick and button placement). With 360-like triggers. I acknowledge it's an interesti...
Very interesting. I'm fairly certain those are features only present on Steam right now. That'd be pretty cool for a game console, let alone one from Nintendo to have features like that.
Sony's also on the mark with games like LBP and ModNation Racers. I'd like to see console manufacturers up the bar on user generated content.
They give people what they want and all you can say is "wah wah, copiez."
Seriously, the classic gamepad set up is so standard that at this point anyone can "copy" it and it would be okay.
Now if Nintendo put a glowing golf ball on the end of the Wii U gamepad and called that motion control, then you'd have a valid argument.
What exactly is the problem? Isn't a classic controller precisely what you bozos wanted?
@disagrees
Really guys? You're disagreeing with a factual statement?
@VanillaBear
Only a troll could say something so dumb. And only morons could agree with him.
The Wii U's controller is a standard controller. there's simply a screen in the middle, a gyroscope and a microphone. It's not suddenly shit just because they put more functionality into it. Don't be such a nincompoop.
Yeah well everyone was expecting its predecessor to fail too.
@backburn10
That goes both ways there, buddy. It's not exclusive to Nintendo, Microsoft or Sony.
Besides, if the rumor was it did not have achievements, you would be getting up in arms and saying that Nintendo is still behind their competition. So it's a double-edged sword for Nintendo.
You just can't please everyone sometimes.
And Aliens. And the real Duke Nukem sequel.
Read the article. According to the source, they went above and beyond the standard. Particularly in the achievements (brackets and extra content) and social networking department (uploading YouTube videos).
I'd just like to point out... holy crap, an anonymous source with something POSITIVE to say!
@ThePsychoGamer
The region lock is unconfirmed, you troll.
You're entitled to your opinion. Just as I'm entitled to disagree with it.
Particularly during the part of your comment where you decided to make a demeaning/ignorant remark.
DAMN YOU AD SPAM!
Club Nintendo gives you free games as awards just for buying your games new and doing surveys. The idea of Nintendo giving away games is not entirely farfetched given their history.
How gimmicky can it be if it's optional functionality? Developers and consumers are given a lot of choices with the Wii U. I think having more options rather than less is a promising investment.
Funny how that works. It surprising if it happens but not if it doesn't. Odd as it is, I agree with you.
I don't think it's a rip-off through architecture. For example that D-pad won't be utter crap.
But the overall shape is extremely similar to the 360 controller. The thing is I'm not sure why people would complain about this; if Nintendo is copying the competition with their "core gamer" controller... isn't that a good thing??? A lot of gamers LIKE the 360 controller but hate its D-pad. Nintendo's controller rectifies this issue. Not to mentio...
