This last comment was pretty much your worst one. Your argument has gone from something very reasonable to "Wah wah, the Nintendo fanboys don't like what I like."

My criticism isn't selective at all. I'm not bashing the Vita for having sequels to games I don't care for. In fact, I'm not bashing it period.

I stated that I won't spend $250+ for PS3 ports and sequels to franchises I DON'T CA...

@saulx6

I assume this means you lost respect for Sony and Microsoft when they put emphasis on Move and Kinect?

A game console can't be better than a PC specs wise. PCs are consistently upgradeable. And either way, they will probably come out with new cards and processors that beat out the PS4's specs within a year. That's just the way the PC parts market work.

Really. You seemed pretty certain before.

Oy. This again. Not gonna happen. Not as long as Nintendo can continue making profits off of consoles. If they survived the N64 and GCN without going software only, they can certainly survive this generation as well.

I don't really listen to reviews; I've been itching to try it myself and I also want to know if Deimurge managed to do anything differently with the Wii U port while Gearbox and Timegate goofed up the other versions.

And like I said, the game may as well be nearly finished. They ought to just get it out there and see if they can get some revenue for the time spent developing it.

I wouldn't bet on that. It was slated for release in the Wii U's launch window. I have to assume it's at least near completion. They may as well release it and see if they can make some money back from it.

I'm noticing a bit of a correlation here.

Remember back when the Wii and PS3 were coming out and the gaming media was doing that "Xbox Wii60" thing? I'm starting to see that a little bit now but instead with the Wii U and PS4. I've seen a number of gamers say they're sticking to their PCs, PS4 and Wii Us, but few times have I seen people talk about the Nextbox (not to say there is no one interested in the new machine).

You ever stop and think about why you only have one bubble?

For starters Mario Kart 7 was a much better game than Mario Kart Wii. The broken motorcycles were removed, you could customize your kart, the online communities were a much welcome addition to the network play (which was not anywhere near as bad as it was on Wii), less hackers and griefers (if any) and it made some nice subtle upgrades to the formula, such as bringing back the coin system and the hang gliders.

Your point on Mario 3D Land is much more sound, but keep in mind t...

@profgerbik

That's the point I'm making here. The PS4 is pretty powerful, obviously more so than the Wii U. But that doesn't mean anything if developers don't choose to take advantage of that. In this instance, I'm not sure Watch Dogs will be optimized to look outstandingly better on PS4 when compared to the Wii U version. Not because the PS4 can't handle more, but because I don't see Ubisoft really taking that extra mile with a multiplat game that...

Out of curiosity, what will your thoughts be if Watch Dogs only looks "a little better" on the PS4? I believe the word "optimization" should be looked up.

4884d ago 6 agree9 disagreeView comment

Depends. Is the developer a lazy bunch who just want to rush the port out or does the developer care enough to take advantage of the hardware?

I think this may be a joke article.

Keep in mind, this is a business. I'm not condoning them putting so much focus on AC and Rabbids, but unfortunately those are the games that make them money. From what I remember, Beyond Good & Evil did not make a whole lot of money, so Ubisoft is waiting for a cult following to make a potential sequel more profitable. And unfortunately in this business the only way to keep rolling is to make money.

Unfortunately, they've waited so long that I'm not sure said ...

Devs will always struggle to optimize their games at the highest possible settings at which point the console will struggle to run said games smoothly. Unlike PC tech which can be upgraded, dedicated consoles have their limits and don't usually offer ways around them (RAM upgrade for the N64 and storage upgrades for HD consoles are exceptions to that).

If you have a graphically intensive game that's pushing the console to its limits then it is more difficult to run th...

Depends on whether or not they truly choose to optimize it. Since PS4 is all about its graphics I reckon they'll probably offer some motion blur, sharper shadows and higher quality particles. Other than that it will pretty much look the same between platforms, I think.

Depends on how much you value those toys I guess. When I was a kid, the good stuff was always above $15, sometimes over $30 (I was big into Transformers and LEGO once upon a time).

I can understand why gamers would see this as overpriced, but I think kids will see more of a novelty of a toy that they can take into a video game as well as across platforms. There are some good ideas with the concept, though I concede that lower prices would certainly have been appreciated.

Congrats, now you know what the Wii U had with its launch multiplats not taking advantage of its hardware. Optimization is the keyword here.

And besides, who's to say KH3 would not look spectacular on both? It would be the first Kingdom Hearts game built from the ground up. And yes, I'm excluding the rereleases.

EDIT: @Root below: I don't know, why don't you ask that question to Activision, Ubisoft and THQ after Criterion ported Need for Speed...

I'm a little weirded out by the reactions. I was impressed as well, but not everyone has to be. Everyone has their own view on things.
