Capcom and free DLC... I think hell just froze over.
Did you notice how the Vita's numbers are at just over half the Wii U's on this chart? Is that a failure too?
Funny you say. It said only around two to three percent of developers are making 3DS games and the 3DS is selling like hotcakes at present. So presently there are MORE games being developed for Wii U than the 3DS, if only a little more. Food for thought.
Yeah, that makes sense to me, particularly the price drop. Same thing helped a lot with the 3DS. Now the Vita just needs to expand its library some more.
Not entirely surprising. The Wii U and Vita have basically been riding neck and neck since the holiday season ended.
Wow Capcom. Good show.
What were Yoshi fans looking for exactly? I don't think a sequel to Yoshi's cookie would have pleased anyone. As long as this new game doesn't screw with what makes a Yoshi game great, then I'll be happy.
72 reasons why a console that isn't even announced yet will fail? Ugh, I should have figured it would be a matter of time before the Nextbox doom articles started. Come on guys, let's keep the crystal balls to a minimum.
Poor guy. And he's still trying to do all of his jobs. Gotta appreciate his work ethic.
Not sure why you lumped Nintendo in there. Their backwards compatibility has been fairly consistent since the GBA days. Granted it took until the Wii with consoles, but still.
Sony was pretty consistent about it until the PS3 slim and Microsoft's BC is a joke.
Pretty good overview. Not too much to disagree with here.
I'd like to make a point about the Wii U. It's $100 more than the Wii and has no games coming out right now literally its current lineup after three months is its launch library. So a lack of sales since then is fairly obvious to see. Compare its third month to the first two where it managed to sell over three million units however. When it gets more must-have games, it will probably start to sell better, espec...
Yes, how dare publishers support consoles other than the one you prefer above others. I have to wonder if PC gamers feel this way every time a new generation of consoles come out.
You're aware that New Super Mario Bros. U and ZombiU have had successful attachment rates with the console, right? I'd also count Nintendo Land but at least half of the copies of that game are bundled with the console.
I don't know which part of your comment is dumber; the strawman arguments or the fact that you took my comment completely out of context.
"Under 50K sales a month (much less than the 7 year PS3)
Limited library of new games to the WIIU
And also it probably (may not) be much less powerful than PS4/nextbox so it probably wont recieve too much third party suppport for more than 3 years or so."
So your assessment is based on its sale...
I do draw a line somewhere but it's only a personal thing, I don't apply it to other people. If you're going to have children die in your story, there better an important and significant reason behind it. Don't do it for the sake of it, or worse, for attention.
Dead Island pissed me off in that regard. They had this whole thing about a little girl dying and becoming a zombie and it was nothing more than a marketing ploy with next to nothing to do with the fina...
A console that had a financially faster start than two of the top selling consoles of the past two years can't be dead after three or four months. It makes no logical sense.
It's fair to say the Wii U has hit a low point post launch with lower sales and a sparse amount of comment in the spring, what with delays and only Pikmin as the only first party title on the way. But to suggest that it can't go up from here is ludicrous. Both the PS3 and 3DS didn't start ...
@miyamoto
I'm sorry, did I piss you off? In your long and laughably insecure response, you made next to no points to counter what I actually talked about.
"Did a 12 year old just said pirated games are the same as a an online multi-player gaming and digital media delivery service?"
Well actually no. The PSN store was breached and lost about $100,000 worth of content stolen prior to the actual hack attack on the network as a whol...
I would have figured this would be obvious.
Isn't it too early to see it either way? The Wii U didn't suffer from poor hardware or functionality, it suffered a rushed out launch without any significant AAA launch titles in its lineup as well as a post launch drought of physical content. When the PS4 is closer to launch and we have a confirmed list of launch titles, ask that question again.
@disagrees
I'm going to go off on a limb and assume you didn't bother to understand the context of...
@stage88 and SaffronCurse
Yes it is. It comes a generation after the Wii.
