I suppose a better question would be why can't people argue those criticisms? I'm all for the concept of people thinking freely and even disagreeing with what I think or feel.
But, for this website in particular, the criticism of Nintendo often devolves into outright hatred and animosity, particularly toward anyone with the gall to say anything other than "[X-Nintendo game/system] is old and/or sucks."
To me, there's a degree of unfairne...
"nintendo has been rehashing and remaking mario, zelda"
Mario 64 is nothing like Mario Galaxy and Majora's Mask is nothing like Skyward Sword. I'm going to go off on a limb and assume you have not played any of the games I just listed.
Also how is "going HD" a form of copying? Honestly, I'd really like an answer to that.
I'd imagine that there are ways to opt out of the social connectivity aspect of the console. You're not forced to have Xbox notifications and you're not forced to use Miiverse. Things like these usually come with an "off switch." So don't worry.
@Neonridr
As usual, a very level headed and insightful comment.
The graphics on what's been shown on the PS4 do indeed look exquisite and clearly better than what's been shown on the Wii U, but I don't think the Wii U will be left behind graphically either.
I may be proven wrong with time, but until then I'm keeping my expectations level. I am happy with my Wii U and I am also interested in the PS4.
@torchic
I call BS on that. I've been on positive and negative articles related to the Wii U just as I have been more recently frequenting positive and negative articles related to Sony hardware as well.
You want to try and argue something I say or do? Fine, but don't lie about it or make baseless assumptions.
Why make a comparison to begin with? It's pretty obvious the Killzone gameplay looked better. I think it would be more interesting to compare Watch Dogs since that game is on both platforms.
@Adnan_rules
Ah, well thanks for pointing it out then. They both look fantastic if you ask me. I just think the Killzone footage comes closer to looking like a CGI movie. I'm sure "X" will look even better when it's closer to release. The same thing ...
Ah, so the trolls have nothing to say when Criterion is praising the Wii U's hardware, but then Ubisoft shows up with this quote and now they're in full swing. Ain't that something. That's typical.
Same song and dance. Wait for a larger software library, perhaps a price drop and there will be more incentive for general consumers to pick one up.
It's not too late at all. Indie gaming is everywhere. It's just a matter of breaking their worlds into the attention of the general public.
This seems to happen frequently on N4G. I thought the press conference was quite good. Not perfect or industry bombing, but they certainly brought out a lot of cool looking things to look forward to.
@askura
Oh of course. The thing is they certainly revealed a lot and what was shown was actually pretty cool. Some minor things they didn't show are probably what's coming at E3.
Eh, no thanks. I'm a Nintendo fan and I'm enthusiastic about the PS4. Once again, great hardware with some sweet looking online features. Just want to see some more games that interest me.
That said I'm not afraid for the Wii U. They're different beasts. I'm convinced they can coexist in the market just fine.
@LoneWolf019
"Nintendo is once again behind. Wii U barely stands up to 360 and ps3."
You're factually wrong; Need For Speed and Criterion say hello.

"It's also Nintendo's inability to listen to the development community about their wants and needs"
The whole reason the controller has clickable sticks is because Nintendo listened to developer input.
And I agree, to suggest the Wii U will lose Nintendo the colossal amount of money Sega lost on the Dreamcast is ludicrous. Nintendo is barely losing more than $20 - $30 on each Wii U sold and any Nintendo game sold with it makes the thing prof...
A failure after three months. Man, gamers on the internet are so smart these days!
Well, the cross-compatibility is a nice side feature. The real question is whether or not it will entice anyone to buy both platforms in conjunction.
It will probably take some time for me personally to get one after the other. That there is a lot of moolah to spend.
So, what ham-fisted conspiracy driven excuse do the trolls plan on using to try and discredit these guys?
In all honesty, I'm not particularly surprised. Nobody chose to really take advantage of the Wii U's power and these guys have at least shown that there is some decent horsepower in the console. Hopefully more games take the same route.
They already announced Mario & Luigi Dream Team. I'd expect a Kirby game for the 3DS to be announced some time this year though.
That doesn't make any sense. You can't pin any of the blame on a supposedly crappy developer? Like I said, they all deserve blame; Timegate is included. They helped make the "stinker" just as Gearbox helped develop it and Sega helped publish it.
I don't necessarily think that makes him a douche. It's his job to sell his product. Perhaps it's more accurate to call it a douchey profession? He wouldn't be the first one to have done it either.
Yeah no. Games regularly priced that way will never sell.
As with the 3DS, they've tested their waters. Now that they have an idea of what their market wants and needs, they can cater to those issues and make the software lineup a lot stronger. The 3DS didn't become a mega seller over night and it seems the Wii U will be the same way.
But I completely disagree with you about their online community. Miiverse is huge and active. Look at the Rayman Legends delay videos on YouTube. Many people have a voice to Nintendo and to oth...
