Am I the only one who would not mind a LoZ where Link was a girl and Zelda was a guy? It'd be weird, yeah, but I wouldn't mind Link being portrayed as female. It would be an interesting contrast to other stories, I think.

Okay, this entire concept is stupid.
There is no winner. It's not a goddamn contest. It's just a show to impress viewers and shareholders. You can argue who you felt had the best or worst showcase, but no one's really "winning" anything outside of attention.

I find it interesting that only on Nintendo related articles do I ever see people agreeing with this guy. Everything else people are usually bashing the crap out of him.
You also don't represent the majority. While the Vita is selling either on par or beneath the Wii U, the 3DS sells hundreds of thousands each month as of late, in some cases outselling its HD console counterparts.
Granted the 3DS' audience is generally more broad than the Vita, but it has more core games on it than its predecessor, like Resident Evil, Metal Gear, Kingdom Hearts and Fire Emblem.

How is a game like that for the casual market though? It comes off to me as more for creative gamers than anything else. Casual gaming is about "quick, simple and cheap." This doesn't spell anything like that to me.

A little patience goes a long way. I think I've said it many times before that developers, including Nintendo, have really only scratched the surface with this platform.
We'll see. I'm not entirely sold yet, but I am interested. I think the base is a little vague right now, but they have some neat ideas to keep an eye on. Price range and launch games are also something I would like to see.

I'm not sure I follow. The Devil May Cry games were still readily available on PS2 shelves when the HD collection came out. Same with Prince of Persia and God of War. In fact God of War has another collection that includes every game in the series when there are two collections and God of War III all available for PS3 right now.

That's because Xbox fanatics never knew when to shut it. PSN had a rough start but became better and no one should fault Sony for trying something new. Same for Nintendo.
I won't say the conference was perfect, but it was still a pretty good one. I think a lot of the complaints are rather premature. For a console reveal, they actually showed off quite a bit, if only to showcase an idea. Now they just need to deliver a more at E3.
That makes sense to me. If Sony becomes number one this generation it honestly would not surprise me. They seem to have learned a lot from the PS3 and have made some good decisions with its successor IMO.
That said I don't think it will monopolize the market. The Wii U is offering something pretty different and who knows what the Nextbox will offer (though I am admittedly less enthusiastic about the latter right now).

Which are always susceptible to be completely false. I cite Metroid x Star Fox as an example. Rumors/leaks/etc. also suggested Nintendo would be bringing big core games like Retro and Monolith's new games to E3 last year and neither happened.
I'm not saying such things are completely irrelevant or can never be trusted, but there are times where they can lead the internet astray to the point of expecting far too much or too little.
