Well, not being written as well as Wreck-It Ralph is one reason. You fall into a laundry list of problems when translating a game to a movie. Games and their stories are not always as deep as many films because it's interactive; it's usually more important to keep the player engaged with gameplay as oppose to intrigued with the story (though some games have gotten away with doing the opposite).

Deviating too far from the source material is also often a bad idea. Uwe B...

Thing is not everyone is as fortunate as you are in this economy and not everyone is a cheap skate when they don't want to spend full price on an admittedly older title.

To play devil's advocate, I don't see why people would complain about this; if you don't want to buy it full price then just wait for a discounted version or don't get it at all I suppose.

I suppose someone had to find a way to blame this one on Nintendo.

Whatever EA. You continue your crappy business practices and I'll continue to not buy any of your games.

@Dylila

Your entire comment is crap. Your last 18 or so comments have been labeling the Wii U as "rubbish." If there's one thing I appreciate on this site, it's that annoyances like yourself only get one bubble.

Hope this game is good and successful. Having a funny game be a success I think would be awesome and it would be a great opportunity for Double Fine to make another large scale game.

Hope you can address it in a future video. The forums you generate are typically more sane and logical.

@blsckblades

Read Shoke's comment. Generating sequels is not stagnation. And lo and behold, of course you single out Nintendo when EVERY major publisher does exactly the same thing. In fact Microsoft is even worse at it since their only two exclusive franchises are Halo and Gears of War, both of which have new installments every now and again and neithe...

What I heard was they were unsure which 3DS remake to decide to make first. We'll probably find out about it either in a new Nintendo Direct or at E3.

Ocarina of Time has been ported twice and remade once, actually. The closest it ever got to a remake in a sequel was Twilight Princess which had some of the same elements and landmarks.

So saying it's been remade "like 18 times" is as gross an exaggeration as it gets.

@Root

Why do you insist on suggesting that Mario and Zelda sequels bring nothing new to the table?

When were you using a water powered jetpack in Mario Galaxy? When were little aliens helping you in Mario 64? When in Ocarina of Time were you flying on a large red bird? When in Wind Waker was the moon about to crash onto the earth?

They are not the same game and all they share is their formula. A formula that works. The moment they stop apprec...

What's Activision guilty of exactly? Milking? Their customer service was generally helpful to me when I was still playing Guitar Hero games.

EA is a bigger scumbag company to me. They've had as many shady business practices as Activision, if not more. Their lousy treatment of Bioware doesn't help that.

"I think GTA 5 is overrated"

The game is not out yet, therefor you have not played it so how can you determine whether or not it's overrated?

Anyone up for visiting PETA's offices and prancing about in pirate outfits singing, "Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me"?

DAMN. That's a lot of longevity for one game (and a LEGO game at that). I think my interest just skyrocketed.

@LOL_WUT

The problem is you've been bashing the Wii U since before it even launched so no one can begin to fathom why you have such an infatuation with a Wii U price drop. You clearly don't really care for the machine, so why even ask for a price drop?

At this point it's difficult to say whether a Wii U price drop is essential, though I'm at the point of believing it could be necessary unless the PS4 and Nextbox wind up being priced at least $...

You're goddamn right it is. That movie was friggin' awesome. I look forward to the sequel.

That's a fair point; I shouldn't have approached this blog with as much of a level of certainty as I did. Of course it CAN happen. However, I feel history and evidence suggest otherwise and tilt the scale in that outcome's favor.

@C0MPUT3R

Generally speaking, gaming was less mainstream at the time. The PS2 sold a lot based on its software and word of mouth more so than anything else. Since the Wii's break into the casual audience, I think gaming has become a lot more mainstream than it used to be.

Sure, Mario and all of those games didn't make GCN sales skyrocket, but one price drop and two Mario games after launch the 3DS, especially now that a broader audience has been intro...

Ignore the original comment. If his ideology was based on facts, the 3DS and the PS3 would have tanked miserably. He also conveniently forgot to mention that despite low hardware sales, the N64 and the GCN were both profitable consoles in the long run and therefor were financially successful on Nintendo's part.

Tell me, what crystal ball does arbitor365 have that has you guys so convinced that what he's saying is written in stone?

That's not what they said at all. Here's a bit straight from the article.

"The figure reported by the NPD Group, the sources' story went on, included perhaps 100,000 units sold to consumers — and 40,000 or more units returned to stores. The net, then, would yield the 57,000 units reported by the NPD Group."

They didn't exclude used game sales, they excluded units that were sold and sent back, possibly from people who were hoping to r...
