No, I got that. I'm sorry if my comment seemed directed toward you. Not one for shooting the messenger anyway lol.
No, I just think that the NPD's idea of casual gaming and hardcore gaming is completely generalized and I feel it's particularly ridiculous to label either the PSP or the Vita as casual devices, or to suggest that only casual gamers are playing the 3DS or the Wii U.
I'm all about the concept of gameplay > graphics. But in this day and age, developers can indeed accomplish both on PCs and the PS4. You cited some good examples of why hardware advancement is indeed important. If a new console comes out, it should be at least a little stronger than the consoles before it, especially if we're talking about a five year gap between it and its predecessor.
Overall, not a bad read.
Yo Suda51, how about that Killer7 sequel on the PS4? Hm? I will buy that son of a gun ASAP if you do.
I agree wholeheartedly about Shyamalongadingdong being a horrid director, but Jaden Smith is a great child actor. He was fantastic in The Pursuit of Happyness and pretty good in The Karate Kid. Kid's got a ton of potential I think.
Awesome. Looking forward to seeing how the projects have progressed since we last saw them. It's been far too long since I've played a proper Metal Gear Solid game.
The screenshots are new, so yeah I guess it is.
Hopefully getting a Vita myself post-price drop. Too much to buy, too much to play it seems. Did I mention I have a list of games I still need to finish? Yeah, that's brilliant. I will be one poor soul after the end of this year.
Actually the stealth edit was for a typo I missed, smart alec. Troll a little harder please.
Er, subjective opinion actually. It had some nice gameplay ideas, hampered primarily by some poor design choices and an awful story (both of which were caused by Sakamoto, needless to say).
^This. There's a reason certain Wii games looked amazing on the Dolphin emulator. The Wii was capable of some great looking games, but the lack of effort from developers combined with no HD is what hurt the system's reputation. Unfortunately the Wii U is seeing a similar treatment now, what with the only 3rd party support so far being ZombiU and a lengthy string of poorly optimized ports readily available at launch.
"So to recap. If you’re a gamer who plays Pokemon Conquest for 1 hour in a week, 2 hours of Persona 4 Golden, 2 hours of Zombi U, 2 hours of Sin and Punishment: Star Successor, 2 hours of Skyrim, 1 hour of Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, and 3 hours of Fire Emblem Awakening you are not a hardcore gamer. If you’re a gamer who plays 3 hours of Call of Duty and 2 hours of Madden, you are. Well, as long as you’re playing them on a PC, 360, or PS3 at least."
Well, I gu...
Really.
Well, let's see here. I play Nintendo Land with my college buddies, I have been playing a ton of Bioshock on my PC, I tend to play my 3DS on long bus rides and I also have been playing a lot of Borderlands 2 with my buddy on the PS3.
So tell me LOL_WUT, exactly what does that make me?
Well it is Sony's game. I say throw it on up there as soon as they can. Give people more options, you know? I personally like physical copies for the big releases but I respect that there are people out there who like downloading their games instead.
I get that this is satire, but I honestly would not be surprised if it truly happened within the next five years.
Ha. I read the headline thinking it was for a "doom" article for an low-selling or upcoming console. Goes to show how the trends on this site affect you I guess.
Anyway, on topic this is pretty cool. It will be interesting to see how they balance this character with the rest of the roster.
The only games you can blame gamers for are the ones that keep getting remade with different coats of paint each year. The Vita's software lineup is of the usual Sony franchises that were successful on other Sony consoles, so I'm not sure why gamers are to blame there since Sony gave them pretty much what they wanted.
It might not have appealed much to anyone who is not largely into Sony games, but it's still hardly a bad lineup. I always felt the price was the Vi...
When you run out of reasons to bash Nintendo or their latest system, I guess the next best thing is to slam one of the greatest minds in game development. Good show author. Screw this trash article. Even if you're not fond of Nintendo, I don't see what there was to take in from this heap of immaturity. Game journalism at its finest, right there.
Honestly, I don't mind how it goes so long as that hack Sakamoto isn't writing the next one. If you want to make Samus a whiny, immature child with daddy issues then at least have the damn decency to make a prequel where such a character arc is more appropriate, not a game that takes place at pretty much the ass end of the timeline.
Gameplay wise, I would not mind seeing a 2.5D Metroid game, though an HD Prime 4 would not hurt either.

Price drop?
"When you spread misinformation and generate a controversy, you make the instances of legitimate complaints lose all credibility. Why would a developer or publisher bother to listen to you if you jumped on any and all bandwagons that have existed?"
This. Holy crap this a million times over.
I may be a big Nintendo guy, but I haven't gotten all this flack the PS4 has come under. As far as new consoles go, it seems to have a lot going for it. New ...
