I totally agree with you. They need to bring back the good elements of Origins and mix them with the good elements of DA2.
TOSgamer: You are correct, it was a rush job, but still an enjoyable one. You find it boring but 10 hours was not enough playtime if you ask me.
But yeah, more time for DA3 is important.
Jeseth:
I totally agree with you. DA2 has a lot of haters, but I think that most of the people badmouthing DA2 either did not play the game at all, or they gave up before giving the game any sort of a chance.
In the beginning, I also felt uncomfortable with the changes in DA2, but once I got into it I was totally hooked. I went back after finishing DA2 and replayed Origins and Awakenings, and while I will agree that DA2 cut out some things that I liked ...
Just because you did not like it does not mean the entire franchise needs to be canceled. I hate it when gamers make such silly comments.
DA2 was not perfect, but I know a lot of people who loved it. I am one of them. So thank you very much, but I do not want them to cancel DA.
I was thinking exactly the same thing. Torchlight is very fun and worth every penny.
It is a step in the right direction. I hope that in the future the QC and patching happens before the game is released, but I will forgive Bioware this time, because I really have enjoyed this game a lot, bugs and all.
Whatever they name it, I just hope that this time they sale a powerhouse system and not just another gimmick. They did the gimmick successfully in Wii, they grabbed the casual market's attention for a bit, and they put some much needed cash back in the Nintendo vaults. Now they need to turn their attention back towards the actual gamers. They need to make a grab at the people who play PS3 & 360, because at the moment a number of gamers do not take Nintendo seriously.
LMAO
Super Wii just sounds wrong for so many reasons. ; )
Actually, I would say this article would have been more appropriate if it were not written at all. Posting and approving nonsense like this just makes N4G look bad.
Well, maybe they might try fixing the buggy games that already made it out their door.
I cannot even imagine how buggy NBA Elite was in order to be cancelled by EA... good move, but not enough to win me over.
PS: I am talking about Sims 3 for PS3, not PC. Should have mentioned that.
When I think EA I think buggy and greedy. That is honestly the first two things that come to mind. That is how EA has branded itself to me. When I buy a game and I have to stop playing it, because it is broken, or glitched to the point of being no fun, I lose trust in the companies involved with those games. If a patch comes out I might forgive, but I never forget. If this happens too often it becomes unacceptable. EA is unacceptable.
Any article telling me I should ...
This is a really good review. It covers both the good and the bad of the game.
The only place I disagree is emo-elf, he was my favorite part of the whole game. Fenris was moody, bitter, and difficult to get to know. Friending him felt like a challenge, and I like a challenge.
I also loved that this review pointed out a couple of things that drove me nuts about the game, the junk that was a total waste of time, and the dead people in Fenris's mansio...
But Wii is not perfect. Leave your Wii in Standby mode aka WiiConnect24, and the system can overheat. I had that problem when I first got my Wii. Of course once you know this it can easily be avoided, but those who had no clue ended up with repair problems.
Good idea. I like that. I could imagine them starting off as enemies, and maybe toward the middle of the game they unite.
*spoilers*
Since Anders fought by both the Hero and the Champion's side, and he did such a terrible thing in DA2 he might be used as a catalyst for better or worse. But I suppose they would need to take into consideration that the Champion might have killed him. Maybe even if the Champion did kill him, perhaps Justice survived and too...
This is a really good review of the game and a fair score. The only point I would disagree about is the characters not being memorable. I actually liked the characters in this game a lot, in fact I like them as much if not more than I did the characters in Origins. After finishing the game I still think about the characters fondly, so I am certain they will remain memorable for me.
As for the story, I liked the part about the Qunari a lot and wish the game would have sta...
"Bout damned time we saw Earth. Hope this doesn't mean we still won't get to spend most of the game exploring the galaxy."
I am sure Bioware would not make us spend all of our time exploring earth... DA2 Kirkwood comes to mind... or would they?
Where are you shopping? Everywhere I buy games, the return policy is that new games, that have been opened, can only be returned if defective and only for a new copy of the exact same game. Sure if you argue the point and make a nuisance of yourself you might get someone to make exception, but the rules are stated right on your receipt and new opened games cannot be returned for full price.
And when a game is first released there is often not enough research to tell if a g...
The problem is not that DLC is a bad thing. It is that certain companies abuse it.
I actually think that:
1) DLC pricing needs to be regulated and pricing fixed in a way that gamers don't feel cheated. No charging $10 for a pack of hairstyles, or some other nonsense. If an add on mission only lasts an hour and is not truly groundbreaking it is only worth a couple of bucks.
2) No using characters or missions that should really be include...
