Agreed. I was just thinking the same thing.
Though not 100% perfect, DA2 is still a fine game. You will enjoy it unless you wanted a clone of Origins. It must be hard for game companies to do sequals. How to please the fanboys who cannot handle change to their favorite series and still please the people who want the change?
Bioware should simply think about the people who stayed loyal to the DA franchise and didn't throw DA2 under the bus just because it isn't exactly what their little narrow minds expected...
I also liked DA2.
You’re missing the point. The girl does not have to be ugly, but the way women are portrayed in some games is just plain silly. It is fine to occasionally have sexy women in games, but when the game is more about the sexy and less about the gameplay something is seriously wrong. I mean if you want sexy ‘just’ for the sake of sexy go pick up a playboy or AV.
I agree with pretty much everything here. A very good read.
The only thing I wonder about would be the online pass comment. Although I agree that piracy hurts the gaming industry, I feel that the online pass is aimed more at buyers of used games and less about piracy. I just don't think a company should punish the people who pay for their game, even if they buy it used, in order to attempt to control piracy.
Although I personally had a problem getting into FF XIII, I respect that a lot of people enjoyed the game, and it apparently sold well enough to warrant a second game in SquareEnix's eyes. It certain wasn't a horrible game, it just did not satisfy me the way I expect a FF game to satisfy.
I don't plan on pre-ordering this one, because this is one time I really want to wait on the reviews before jumping in with my pocket book. But if SE really delivers and this tu...
You didn't use the word 'hate', but you proved yourself to be a hater with your insulting statement. Or maybe you misspell dislike as aweful - sort of hard to tell.
DA2 is one of those games that you either love or you hate. I actually agree with you that a lot of the people who badmouth DA2 have not actually played the game, or if they did they got annoyed by its flaws and/or the fact that is isn't an Origins clone and never really gave it a chance to grow on them.
In my opinion, DA2 has a great story, great characters, and is very addicting. It also has some glaring flaws, but if you are able to overlook them and overlook the n...
dangert12: you didn't like the game, fine, play something else, but realize that the people who clicked on this story to hear about the DLC don't really care what the haters think.
I liked mage best too, but I also like the warrior class. I am really looking forward to this DLC, gives me a reason to replay the full series one more time.
Personally I loved DA2, as did most of my friends, still I respect that it was not a perfect game and some people were put off by the changes or simply didn't enjoy it.
I don't mind when someone says they don't like DA2, or any other game, but I do find comments like the one left by dangert12 to be very rude and trollish. The comment is basically "I didn't like the game, but you did, so something must be wrong with you".
I do under...
Yep, and I hope they get the message. And is it just me or did they pull a bunch of stuff off streaming this week? My Netflix was down on Sunday and now the instant choices all suck. Is this how they nudge people to subscribe to both streaming and DVD, remove anything worth watching from streaming? Yeah, that makes me want to pay more for it. They keep making bad business moves, let's watch it bite them in the ass.
At least the struggling blockbuster online has the righ...
If anyone has doubts to why competition is good, just look at Netflix, the minute they killed off Blockbuster up goes the subscriptions fees.
I have to take back my 60% comment, because it is actually not quite that much.
My current fee is 11.99 and they are raising it 5.99 to 17.98.
What I find more interesting is this article which talks about studios playing hardball and pulling their movies.

Do I really want to pay more for Netflix st...
They have added a few newer TV shows and movies, and a lot of anime, but still about 80 percent of the streaming stuff is crap.
I keep hoping for an option where they allow you to click on a movie and remove it from your choices to make it easier to weed through all the crap, but if they ever did that it would probably make it too obvious how little decent content they actually have available to stream.
The fact is they are raising the price around 60% for anyone who currently uses both options. Sure it is only a few extra dollars a month, but imagine if everyone decided to raise their prices 60%. You'd have a bloody riot on your hands, so why should Netflix be entitled to such a extravagant rate hike? This whole thing makes them look really bad.
Additionally there is the whole issue with Sony pulling their movie streams off of Netflix, so that makes Netflix's st...
They have not told me yet either, but when I looked at my account page they have a note that the price will change Sept. 1.
I've been with them since 2003, and now I am thinking of canceling.
It is certainly a manipulative move, but Sony isn't the first company to use this tactic. Online passes have been sneaking into our games for a while now. Sony has just decided to jump on the bandwagon, which puts them in the spotlight.
Not that it excuses them; I think the online pass is totally unfair to gamers. Instead of working this out with used game companies (Gamestop, etc.) they decide to put the burden on the buyer. It is a shitty way to treat the people who bu...
I don't use steam, but still I find this type of manipulation unacceptable. It is time for fans to start saying no to unfair exclusive deals. If nobody buys them, EA (and their like) might get the message and rethink their crappy strategies.
And yet you seem to find time to pop by a gaming website and act like a troll. Real constructive use of your time.
