Sorry, but I don't think making a Marcus Fenix clone the star of the next FF is the answer we're looking for.
Everyone assumes that Versus is going to be so great, but personally I have my doubts. I find myself wondering if the reason that Versus is taking so long is that is simply isn't that good. I do hope that I am proven wrong and Versus turns out to be the comeback game the FF series needs so badly, but I just don't have a lot of faith at the moment.
I think that the reason they won't do a remake is that the hype would be so high on a FFVII remake that it would be hard to actually meet expectations. If a FFVII remake fails, for any reason, it will effect the entire series.
True, but the problem is that for every person who would be willing to take a stand on this issue there 5 people - like the person above you - who are brainwashed into thinking that online passes are a necessary evil. In order to have a united front, gamers need to be united, and sadly on the subject of online passes gamers can't seem to agree.
No some people just are not happy bending over with a smile every time a game company decides to squeeze the gamer for another $5-10. If you are happy doing so that is your business, but you should not insult people who are unhappy with this by calling them cheap.
Many of the gamers who are upset about this are not cheap, nor are they pirates, but they probably have better things to spend their money on, like rent, gas, groceries, 401K, family, friends, real life issues, etc...
As wrong as online passes are, I don't think pirate games are the solution, so don't make excuses. You are stealing plain and simple.
This is something I have thought about too, since I often go back and play my older games. But I think that game companies actually like the idea of making the games we buy obsolete, because that way they can sale us a reworked/ported/digital version down the line. But just like the online passes most gamers just bend over and take it. As long as we are willing to swallow this type of shit, game companies will be happy to keep shoveling it, but sadly I don't see this changing in the fut...
Well it isn't generally the real game journalist who hate on a beta, it is the wannabe game journalist. True game journalist understand that it is unethical to review an unfinished beta.
THE FOUR SINS OF GAMING:
1 - Online passes
2 - Buggy games
3 - Pre-order exclusives
4 - Overpriced/crappy/buggy/day1 DLC
Although I would like to say that I will never buy another game that commits these sins, I know that I will, because it is often the better game developers that pull this crap, so we are at their mercy.
However in order to take a stand, and also save money, I have started being REALLY picky ab...
This is interesting. I am really looking forward to this game.
Identity theft can happen anywhere, on your computer, at your ATM, at your favorite restaurants/stores, so it stands to reason that if your PS3/360/Wii stores your credit card info. you can never expect to be 100 percent safe.
The best route to go (in my opinion)is to never use your ATM card, only use your credit card in places where you feel safe, and use points cards in your game consoles instead of entering a CC number (but don't carry a large points balance in your ...
I will buy tells of Graces F, but I won't be buying Tales of Abyss, since from what I understand it is a remake of the PS2 game, which I already own. Plus I have absolutely no interest in 3DS, so I certainly won't be picking one up just to play a game I already own on another system.
Hopefully all the PS3 owners will speak with their wallets and support Graces F. If this game does well on PS3 it could open the doors for not only more Tales games, but also for other J...
This would have been great three years ago, now I don't really care.
Although I want to play these games, it would piss me off if they put them out on the WiiU instead of the Wii in North America. I have not had a single game that I want to play on the Wii come out in ages, and when they finally get a couple that I actually want to play they screw around and don't release them in North America. This is not a way to win my support for their next console. The sad thing is that I was really interested in a WiiU until I heard that Nintendo was not planning ...
I also wonder about the 360 version of Tropico 4. I enjoyed Tropico 3, but I was very disappointed that the 360 version was so buggy. I put it on the shelve to wait for a patch, however we never got even a single patch for it. Hopefully they will do better this time, but I won't buy until I confirm this. Shipping buggy games is bad, but not patching buggy games is unacceptable to me.
Ah, I see. Still if I was you I would cancel the card you have with MS. Just to keep yourself safe. It is amazing to think that these companies are not more careful with their customers information. Myself, I'll stick to the points cards, since neither MS nor Sony can apparently be trusted with this information.
What I don't understand about his article is why would this guy wait nearly a month, while his account was reinstated, before he decided to ask about his credit card??? I have never used a credit card on Live, I use the pre-paid cards instead, but if I did use a credit card on Live and I suspected my account had been hacked the first thing I would do is call my credit card company to cancel the card just in case.
Maybe I am missing something, but I think it is kinda uncool to review a beta of a game, since betas are generally for testing purposes and do not really represent the final version of the game. Perhaps instead of trying to be the cool kid on the block who got beta access these people should be giving this feedback to Bioware which might give them a chance to make changes to any 'real' problems prior to release. If anything maybe they should use the word preview, since these are not ...
I am not much for renting games, I like to actually own the game so I can play it whenever I feel like it. But I respect that renting is a good option if you want to try out a lot of games, before you buy.
After thinking it over, I am not certain I would actually buy a FFVII remake. If I want to play FFVII I can just fire up the original.
I would like to see a FFVII sequel, but perhaps one where the original characters are grandparents/mentors to a new generation of FFVII characters.
I would also like SE back off the cutscenes a tiny bit and put more effort into telling the story within the game itself. If they spent less time/money on cutscenes and more on g...
