I won't miss Desmond at all. I've felt no connection with him throughout the series, he is so bland and average I am surprised he wasn't killed off after the first game.
I am not looking forward to Versus, because I suspect it will only disappoint me.
When a 12 year old does something like this it is funny, because they might not know any better, but having a 17 year old do this is just sad.
They have some very good DLC. I have not bought all of the packages, but the ones I did buy really extended game play and never felt like they were cut from the original package to sale separately. It's DLC done right, and I am all for that, so much better than some companies that take the easy money screw the gamer DLC route.
Actually I think their biggest mistake this generation was XIV online, but FFXIII was certainly not one of their finest moments either. Regardless when you consider their overall performance this generation they should certainly keep their finger pointing to themselves. As for Versus, they are probably scared to release it, because it is probably a FFXIII clone.
They must be banking on everyone forgiving and forgetting when the new systems come out, but they might be in for ...
So they need plenty of RAM to run those pretty interactive movies that they have been trying to pass off as a game?
Why is Tomb Raider any worse then what you get on most crime shows? What you see on Criminal Minds or CSI goes way beyond 'attempted' and often involves murder as well as assault. I don't get it.
The only time top 10 lists bother me is when the list gets spread out over several webpages in order to force you to open 10 different webpages (and view the crappy advertising) to get to the end of the list. That is indeed tedious, but in this case it's just one page, so I'm fine with it.
BTW if you really hate top 10 lists, wouldn't you be better off just ignoring the thread? No offense, just saying.
I agree, his list was good, but I would have replaced Kingdom Hearts or MGS4 with Bioshock. I do think the Fallout 3 beginning was good enough to be on the list though.
Actually, this could have easily been a top 10 list, since I can think of a number of other games that have very good beginnings.
I loved FF VIII, it is high on my top ten favorite games list, and reading this made me want to play it again. Plus Triple Triad was amazing, of all the FF mini games it was my favorite.
I like JRPGs and I also like Western games. Personally, I think that Japan got a little too focused on handheld gaming and ports and they neglected consoles for far too long. There have been a handful of good JRPGs on consoles, thanks to companies like Atlus and NISA, but the epic games that I would really like to play (Suikoden or Shadow Hearts for example) never seem to materialize on consoles.
I want Legend of Dragoon 2.

You could be right. But the behavior of the gamers it attracts makes me want to avoid it. It is one thing to love a game and talk it up, it is another to love a game and talk all other games down in order to prove your game is the best.
You REALLY need to lighten up. I held back from telling you how childish you sounded after reading your comment above calling the writer 'dumb', but seriously you need to calm down. I respect that you like Japanese games, but do you really need to be so pushy with your opinions? We are all here to have fun right?
@ hitenfart
But imagine how great this site would be if instead of fighting we all just shared our love of games and respected that not...
Personally, I think the ideal formula can be achieved by taking the best from both worlds (Western & Japanese games), but the reason it isn't happening is that Japanese games often go overboard on the changes, basically killing what was good about the original in order to add Western flavor to the game.
The reason Demon Souls broke out of this mold was because it was a brand new series, which carried no fan expectations. When you are working on a FF or Resident Evil...
I have to say the 1 single thing that keeps me from buying the Witcher2 is all the Witcher2 fanboys popping up on almost every single gaming thread to bash whatever game the thread is about while talking about how great Witcher2 is. Seriously it is so off putting that it has made me hate a game that I might have liked if its fans were not so annoying.
Exactly, in fact I noticed that the Mass Effect extended ending download is larger then Dawnguard surprisingly.
Not going to complain about the size, it just means more Skyrim to love.
I have a lot of respect for Nintendo as a company, since they revived the gaming industry after Atari killed if off back in the olden days... but sorry Reggie, there is nothing anyone can say to convince me that the Wii is for hardcore gamers. It was designed and marketed to appeal to kids and casual gamers, and that is what it did.
Sadly, At the moment I have seen nothing to convince me that the Wii U isn't following in those exact same footsteps, but I would never ru...
I hate to say it but EA's fans are also at fault. We might bitch and complain, but we also buy the games that allow them to pat themselves on their backs and pretend their fans don't hate them as much as we love some of the series under their label.
The only way to make EA change is to simply stop buying their games. If we are not willing to take that step we should not be surprised that they continue to take our money while pissing us off.
Well this is IGN, they are not video game reporters/reviewers, they are more like game company groupies. I never take anything they say seriously anymore.
