I think SOME games should be $40, and some should even be less. Of course there are rare games that are so perfect they deserve their $60-70 pricetag, but sadly they share the stage with the games that have no right to charge full asking price. The problem is as long as some gamers are happy to pay $60 for over-hyped under-performing games developers have no reason to rethink their pricing strategy.

I agree, gaming can be cheaper if you want/need it to be.

Personally, I would rather not go the Direct Download route unless that is the only option available, so I save money by waiting. Why pay $60 for a game when I can often buy the same game for less a few months down the line. Of course that means I can't play new release games on day 1, but it also means that by the time I pick up a game it has often already been patched. Additionally it saves me the annoyance of...

Or perhaps:

"This movie sucked. I want my seven dollars back" - The movie industry starts making movies that don't suck and people start watching more movies.

"This book's ending did not satisfy me!" - writers with real talent who can write a good book from start to end succeed and writers who cannot write stop wasting readers time and money.

Consumers should not be expected to blindly support bad quality, no matt...

Agree on the lame title. Besides the day a video game quote makes me wet myself is the day I give up gaming and check myself into a hospital.

Let's look at it this way. As gamers I think most of us don't like it when the media compares us to mass murderers and other nutcakes who just happen to game. We also don't like it when people assume that we all live in our parents basements, are unemployed, and other such gamer stereotypes. We take offense to this, because even though some gamers are indeed crazy and some of us are indeed lazy, it doesn't mean that all of us fit in that category.

Stereotypi...

Considering that all the games on the current sale that I might buy all list not available online and are unavailable in all stores near me, I am not holding out much hope for their next sale. Hopefully others will have better luck.

I am confused...

Didn't BioWare fight changing the ending in the first place, siting artistic integrity, and rallying all their lap dog game journalists like IGN to call their fans entitled babies?

...and after their fans revolted and refused to back down they decided to create the free 'extended' ending, which SHOULD have ended the ME story...

but now they are going to sale us the REAL ending as DLC???

Interesting question. It's funny, because this week I was sorting through my old games and decided to pop FF VIII into my console, and even though it looks like crap compared to their newer stuff it is 100x more fun to actually play. I guess in the future when I need a DQ fix I will settle for replaying one of their old ones instead.

Agreed! I generally always buy their Dragon Quest games, but I am passing this time, because I am not into online only.

@Mostjadedgamer

Just like once in a while it is nice to read an old book, or watch an old movie or TV show, it can be very nice to occasionally revisit video game classics. While some old games get worse over time, many get better with age. You should try it sometimes, then perhaps you won't feel so jaded anymore. ; )

Yep, one of the reasons I never use my Wii is because it is simply too much work. Heck, I live in Colorado, when I want to exercise I have a hiking trail right outside my door. But when I want to relax I want a nice normal and dependable controller.

Though I wouldn't be surprised if they actually did get rid of steering wheels one day. I could totally picture a world where your car could be programmed to do the driving for you. Probably with less accidents too.

It is all a matter of opinion, but for me pretty much every FF game that came after XII has been a let down.

After XIII I vowed to never buy another FF game, but I had $15 worth of Best Buy rewards that were about to expire, so went to check out Best Buy's summer sale yesterday. They had XIII-2 on sale for $14.99, so I said WTF and caved and bought it. Basically I only paid sales tax for the game, but even then I wondered if I was getting ripped off, since I don't re...

@sidar "Because if they tap into a market that is beyond the "hardcore" gamer. Then you are not relevant anymore."

Although your point is not wrong, I think you also have to look at the flipside. Once the non-hardcore gamer gets bored of their shiny new toy, they unplug it, and stick it into storage. Best case scenario they buy a handful of new games a year often stuff they pull out of the bargain bin.

Although tapping into the casual m...

I don't mind lists when they stay contained to 1 or 2 webpages, but 1 example per page is obvious click bait.

I don't mind paying when the DLC is worth the asking price, but sadly that is rarely the case. Plus DLC rarely seems to drop in price even though the retail copy does. When DLC cost more then the retail price of an older game it is hard to justify buying it.

5 weird places spread over 6 webpages, not worth the trouble.

The reality is this guy was probably influenced by video news coverage of previous school shootings, or other mass shootings.

Our wonderful media (including CNN) glorifies criminals, giving them their 15 minutes of fame. A unstable person watches the news, they see the smiling face of the criminal, they see the carnage, and they learn how easy it is to get guns/bullets. Video games my ass!
