I was always partial to the original Quake nailgun. Remember the ammo had the NIN symbol on it? Classic.
@LastDays: Who said anything about fanboys?
@BWS1982: I just can't bring myself to give a crap about Kotick. There's always going to be some douche to hate in the games industry. Last year it was the guy from EA. These guys all have families of their own and they're doing the best they can.
As for the game getting scores it maybe didn't deserve, (I agree about the graphics being sort of weak in spots) why should we hold that against the game? Go write a letter ...
Wow, I'm just amazed at the amount of hate leveled at this game. Is it the lack of exclusivity that bothers people? Get over it, guys.
In a way it's sort of a good thing. I mean whether they had 2 teams or 3 working on the series there would be a new game every year, right? At least this way each team gets a full three years to finish a game instead of two.
Still nothing for Canada, eh? Wtf?
I'm with the guy above me here. FEAR 2 rocked the first one in every way, imo. Either way, they were both awesome games. i was hoping we'd see a third one, but wasn't to sure given the somewhat lackluster sales of the second one. Glad to see it's getting another chance. Hopefully they don't release in between another CoD game and Killzone 3 or Halo: Reach or something.
@1.15: Parity between multi-plats was never important with the NES/SMS, PS1/N64 or PS2/Xbox/Gamecube. This crap is exclusive to this generation. If they can make something look better on one system, why shouldn't they?
In IGN's defense, maybe this wasn't the same reviewer who reviewed the Xbox version. It's possible he just didn't like the game as much as the other reviewer.
'Course it's more fun to just cry "IGN is biased!".
I didn't mind the elevator rides so much, but more diverse environments and less pop-in would be welcome changes. They've had plenty of time to work on this one so all those little issues should be ironed out by release. Looking great so far.
These guys sure spent a lot of time trash talking a rival website. Bad form.
Well we all have accounts here already, plus you get to know some of the other N4G regulars so you can get into conversations with them on here. It's easier to go back and check your old comments here too in case someone replied.
Then of course, there are tonnes of people who read the summary and don't even go to the source page...like I just did.
Even if it is a Mario Kart clone, if it can even come close to being as fun as Mario Kart, then I'm in.
So anyone see the screens? Is it badass? Won't load for me.
Edit: Oh, there it goes. Looks slick.
Another day, another reason to pretend like we're all going to boycott MW2. We'll see how successful all these boycotts are come Tuesday, I guess.
I'm thinking it will sell about as well as Halo 3.
Assuming they paid to use the image or got it off a stock imaging website, why should we care? Hell, even if they used it illegally, what's it matter to us?
Gamers are too high-brow for tits now? Come off it.
Maybe you should direct a little bit of that rage at the governing bodies in Germany who wouldn't let them sell their game without making cuts. Why are we pretending like this is Activision's fault? Obviously they're like the "new EA" and it's cool to hate on them atm, but this is getting a bit silly.
The international space station is held together with tonnes of duct tape. Seriously. Saw that on The Discovery Channel so you know it's true. ;)
It's been completely out of stock in Toronto since about 3 hours after it released. I got myself a raincheque so I can get it for the $40 when it comes in again. Still kind of a pain in the butt, though.
This game will be $40 in Canada for the first week at WalMart, Best Buy and FutureShop. Start pinching pennies kids. You don't wanna miss that deal.
Hopefully it doesn't freeze every 20 minutes this time. Anyone who picked the game up close to launch (pre-patch) knows exactly what I mean.
Thank you. That was very helpful.
