Agreed 100%, but that doesn't make him any less of a tool. Remember that bit when he was going on about how nobody in the wings and hot sauce business has as much experience as him? Or when he refused to go eat at his own restaurant because Weibe was in there? Yeah. He's a douche.
I couldn't really care less who holds the record (although Weibe seems like a nice fellow) so long as someone takes the crown away from that douchebag Billy Mitchell. Man I hate that friggin' guy.
I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to compare the average KDRs, accuracy, etc of the top 1000 players on a few popular multi-plat games like COD4 or something. That should give us a fair idea.
I'm quite serious. I remember it well. $113 at Zellers (which is like a Canadian Wal-Mart). My Genesis cost around $300 I think. Got it pretty close to launch. These are Canadian prices I'm quoting, of course. I remember X-men ran me in the $90 range after taxes as well.
Games cost a bit much imo, but I remember paying a lot more back in the 16bit days. Toejam & Earl cost me $113 after tax. I'll never forget that one.
Lulz. The article refers to his character in Pineapple Express as a guy who "does" pot. That probably shouldn't make me laugh, but it does. Sounds like something one of my old high school teachers would say.
Wow. Looks like Ganondorf got schooled.
Hmmm...wonder how long this will last. I'm guessing it'll be 3 weeks from the official North American release date until someone cracks this sucker.
Never heard of the second two, but Cannon Fodder is a great classic and an absolute blast to play.
@Altered Soul: I thought about how OnLive would end up having to purchase their own hardware on their end, but I doubt they would end up buying as many GPUs as we (private consumers) do.
Looking at that list of publishers who've jumped on board already, though, it looks like they may be able to co-exist with the existing market if they play their cards right. They're sure to ruffle a few feathers at first, but you can't fight change, I guess.
This sounds like a really cool idea, but a lot of major players stand to lose hundreds of millions of dollars on high end gaming PC and GPU sales if it works. Not to mention the disaster this would be for existing digital distribution platforms like Steam.
Something tells me OnLive has an uphill battle ahead of them. As one of those guys who can't afford to keep up with the latest and greatest PC tech, I wish them the best of luck.
No update in Canada yet. I just checked. Things tend to come out a few hours later here, though.
Asgard. But yeah, I hear it's solid. That's on my list of rainy day games. I'll probably pick it up during the summer draught.
I've been using Linux for around 3 years now, maybe more, and I'm what you might call a power user. By "power user" I mean I'm one of those geeks who's probably on my computer for at least 6 hours (usually more) a day doing one thing or another. In all that time I've yet to come across a single thing I couldn't do in Linux just as easily as I could in Windows except for loading music on an ipod.
What's this software you're referring too?
Btw, I can't reme...
Ooh, good angle. I came in here looking to take a shot at MS and just generally be a Linux snob, but I think you may have hit the nail on the head. He's probably taking a shot at Apple.
Canadian, eh? Lol. I think I'd sh*t my pants if I saw a Timmy's in COD.
As for levels, I'd like to see them throw us a few curveballs. That bonus level in COD4 on the plane was awesome. Let's see some more tight, tactical stuff like that. The big vehicle chase at the end of the last game was bloody intense too. It's going to be hard to outdo COD4.
The script did suck. It's not that the story they were trying to tell was that bad, it was standard action game stuff, it's just that they had a lot of unfinished bits in there. Like they had a much broader story planned, but had to cut a lot back late in the game.
For example, that chick you meet half way through the game. Who the hell was she? Hayden seemed to know her and you kind of get an idea what their relationship might have been, but really, they never said who she...
@L80: Lol. You had me wondering for a second there because the arcade I used to go to when i was a kid actually had a shooter called "Police Trainer" that definitely didn't have motion controls. Cool game, though. I think I see what you're saying now.
I rather enjoyed Dark Sector. Maybe if I'd payed full price for it I'd be less enthusiastic, but I think I got it for around $15 and it was well worth it. 7.5/10 sounds fair.
What's wrong with the PSP? Since GoW: CoO released they've had a steady flow of quality games coming out with at least one megaton release every three months or so. What's it going to take for people to stop preaching this "PSP is doomed" nonsense?
The PSP is the only console I can think of other than those made by Nintendo that's made any headway in the handheld market at all. Bottom line, PSP makes money. If Sony were hemmorraging cash left and right trying to kee...
