More of a rant than an article. Usually someone would take that sort of thing to a forum or something rather than go posting an "article" somewhere.
Anyway, whatever. I guess I would have been frustrated too.
Yikes. They didn't sound too impressed. That was the first non-glowing preview I've seen for the game, but it sounds like they had more time with it than anyone has so far. June is creeping up. Hopefully High Voltage can pull it together in time.
@SpikeZ: Well they'd need to include some sort of emulator on the disc for those without BC PS3s, but I'm sure that would be fairly simple for the guys in lab coats over at Sony Santa Monica. Still, it's not like all they need to do is slap any old PS2 game on a Bluray disc and it will work. There's a little more to it than that.
Considering the game was announced 11 years ago, I'd say it already got ridiculous a long damn time ago. I remember the year Duke 3d came out the big rivalry in the PC gaming world was between Duke and Quake 1. Personally I preferred Duke 3d. It was actually my first online game back when we had to play over 36.6k modems.
Since then we've seen 3 official Quake sequels, a couple of expansion packs, one spin off and 3 or 4 different IPs from id software. What's 3dRealms done? ...
Well the article isn't dated April 1st...I don't get it.
I guess not outselling the DS=fail. Forget the millions up on millions of dollars the PSP made for Sony and all the awesome software it's seen over its 5 years on the market. Forget that it's the only non-Nintendo handheld to ever put even the slightest dent in the big N's market share. It's fail because "platformnation.com" says so.
I think the original Xbox controller (the "D" controller, I think) was the worst one in recent memory, but the old school intelevision controllers have to be the worst ever.
Edit: But I may never know if the author agrees since the article won't load. That's the N4G effect for you.
Looks like a tonne of fun, but those moving environmental hazards are going to cause a lot of controller smashing moments, I think.
It's really no more ridiculous than the guy who wrote a blog post about the original blog post. If you don't think the original story should have been approved, that's one thing, but that "HHG STFU" bullshit got approved and made the front page so at the very least this Kyle fellow should be allowed to reply.
Obviously the N4G mob have got their torches and pitchforks at the ready so Kyle is probably about to find it may have been in his best interest to just let it go...
I'm approving. The guy deserves a chance to defend himself at least.
I don't know if the ability to sing and drum makes it worth buying this game if you played the originals, but what about people who missed the old Guitar Hero games? Or people like me who sold their PS2 when they bought a backwards compatible PS3 only to find the stupid thing won't play PS2 Guitar Hero?
As the guy mentions in the article, making the originals available as DLC for a low cost would be a better option, but I don't know if I'd go so far as to call this new game a wa...
I just tried to get a couple of sniping kills in Killzone. Turns out I suck at sniping. Like really bad. Guess I'm more of a shotgun blast to the face kind of guy.
Funny how a news aggregator like N4G can suddenly find itself at the center of the news. Here we have a story being submitted to N4G *about* another story that was submitted to N4G, *because* it was approved on N4G. Strange...
So we're meant to believe he didn't know before calling in that his PS3 came with a 12 month warranty? Bullshit.
Lol. Someone's going to get in trouble over that one. Actually I wouldn't have known those were illegal either.
I'm surprised everyone likes it so much. I thought Altair looked a lot cooler. This guy has a puffy shirt on underneath it all. Anyway, they did a solid job of making him look recognizable as an Assassin's Creed character while making him look appropriate to the time period.
I just hope he's a little less...whiny than Altair. I mean Altair was a badass, but he was kind of a complainer too.
I find it hard adjusting to the controls with the UT2D mod, but for this I'll have to give it another shot.
It looks a bit better than the one that's linked a few comments above, but it still sort of looks like arse, imo.
Well maybe that's a bit harsh, but it's not great by any means.
@Kigmal: Really? Don't get me wrong, I'm as excited about InFamous as the next guy, but I don't get all this "Sucker Punch are gods" talk. I never enjoyed any of the Sly games. The levels seemed poorly laid out to me (in the one I played) and the whole series was definitely aimed at kids.
Then again, I thought the same thing about Naughty Dog before Uncharted came out and they certainly proved they were more than a one trick pony. Something tells me InFamous will b...
God dammit. No love for Canadians I guess.
